Fish, crab and oysters at good prices at this long time market stand. They are also happy to pack your purchases for shipping or the long flight or drive home.

This place has new owners, so give it another try. Always ask to see the harvest tag for shellfish and you'll come off as a savvy seafood shopper. Crab and shrimp cocktails are a fine snack to munch on while exploring Pike Place Market.

Poor packaging for shipping and customer service lacks – City Fish is located in Pike Place Market, we had previously purchased fish packaged for travel at Pikes Place Market as we live in Montana. I forgot the name of the company we used and thought it was City Fish. I ordered $400 worth of seafood from them and received it packaged in cheap plastic bags tied in knots. Two ice packets, no dry ice. The monk fish "filets" were all in one bag with a knot. The fish was not filleted well at all. Not cleaned well either. It was a terrible presentation. Fish liquid was all over the packages and the black cod was soaking in it. I emailed "Robert" who is also a principal in the business regarding the presentation, basically asking if that is the way they normally package fish and also about filleting of the monk fish but did not get a reply. So I'm guessing that is the way they do it. Their pricing was not inexpensive by any means nor was their shipping.

The actual fish market we purchased from in the past was Pure Food Fish - when we purchased fish there the fillets were vacuum packed and the employees were great.

I won't be ordering from City Fish again.

Tourists beware!!! I was a tourist in Seattle and the very "friendly" sales person talked me into a several hundred dollar order of wild salmon to be sent as a gift for my mom. The order never arrived and I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. Luckily, my credit card company protected me and returned my money. I'm glad I didn't pay in cash!!!

The flavor of Pike Place Market makes fresh fish from local waters taste even better. – In Short
This city fishmonger has been in business for over 80 years. Carrying the torch is owner Jon Daniels, a former commercial fisherman who's kept his contacts and likes to buy from fellow fisherman rather than wholesalers. Salmon is the big seller here in the form of king, sockeye and coho. Other Pacific Northwest favorites include Alaskan King crab, shelled crabmeat, ling cod, true cod, sole, Pacific snapper, rainbow trout and Oregon bay shrimp meat.

"soft" dungeness and crabby – Rec'd shipment of mushy crab, ws told it is start of year(June), not offered any recourse, caveat emptor

The best in the market – There are plenty of fish shops in the market, but I think this one's the best. They're honest, friendly and not too busy tossing fish to give you good service.
