Always a great happy hour here, or just go for good ole dinner. And you can use the valet service that is just upstairs!

I love the intimate, moody little bar in this restaurant just around the corner from gum wall. The killer happy hour offers bites & wine starting at just 3 bucks every day 5:00 pm. - 6:30 p.m.

Great restaurant with a great dessert! – We LOVE this restarant. We come here whenever we need a really special romantic evening. The staff is professional and is helful, yet leaves you privacy. The food has always been excellent and the wine is always superb. Our favorite part of every experience: the chocolate dessert with raspberry sauce (wish I could remember the name). It is so good, we tried to order it for our wedding cake.

Unfortunately, we had thought we were going to Chez Shea every time. We ordered their cake that was similar and realized, on pickup, that what we had thought was Chez Shea was actually Il Bistro. We love Il Bistro so much we've never made it to Chez Shea!!! :)

Almost disappointing .. – I`ve always wanted to go to this restaurant for months. And my boyfriend surprised me on my birthday by taking me here finally for dinner. The ambience is absolutely romantic with the entire room dimly lit with candles ! Just as I imagined. It was a Tuesday, and fairly late for dinner, probably 9pm-ish. I ordered the lamb. And it was delicious !! BUT the place was SO noisy & the tables were possibly a bit too close to each other, I couldn`t even hear myself speak ! It was VERY hard to enjoy the food & the restaurant when you can practically hear everyone`s conversation but your own. The waiter wasn`t as friendly or attentive. So I left pretty disappointed in all the high raves about it. But I suppose it wasn`t really the restaurant`s fault.

Romantic, Friendly and hidden – Il Bistro is a wonderful hidden away restaurant, but, really the bar is the best feature of the place. Rick who is currently bartending is not only friendly but knowledgeable and makes terrific drinks. If you'd be interested in trying some different cocktails, or learning more about scotch, Vodka (who knew that there are grape based vodkas?), or tequila, Rick will help. I had a wonderful Risotto of the day that had Mozarella, Basil and tomatoes, a sort of Caprese, and really enjoyed it. Tango dancing in the dinning room late on Thursday nights.

Dimly lit and mood drenched. – Cute restaurant. Adorable wait staff and great italian food and wine selection. Portions were big enough to share and we all boxed up enough to have lunch the following day. So far, one of the best Italian restaurants in Seattle. This would be a great place for a date.

intimate – What a find! The boyfriend and I went here for our monthly "make sure we make it a date" night. This had all of the ambiance and coziness we were looking for! To begin with, I love the bistro-style restaurant. However, the way in which you enter this restaurant in itself, seems somewhat hidden and romantic. A must-taste is the beef carpaccio (served as a antipasti). The slices of meat are cut so thinly and delicately, they almost melt in your mouth--the way it should be! There is a variety of wines that top off this sort of dining experience as well. It is definitely a place we will be coming back to often!

Amazing Romantic Restaurant – My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate his birthday and what a find! The food is beyond fabulous. Every time I took a taste of my halibut with truffle demi-glaze, my eyes rolled in the back of my head! The staff was informative and attentive and went the extra mile to make the occasion special. It's a bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. We'll be back!

Atmosphere, service, quality!! – It just doesn't get any better! I take my clients on a tour of Seattle whenever they are from out of town, and I make reservations to dine at Il Bistro. I know they will be impressed and they always are! In a word, "STELLAR"!

Atmosphere Plus! – I've been going to Il Bistro for years, not just for special occasions, and love it for the ambiance, the friendly & accomodating staff, small plates and drinks. Sure over time there have been a few hiccups but you can't beat Il Bistro for a leisurely drink or two after work with good friends.

Great Ambience, Service; Mediocre Food – Location and ambience are great, and we found the service and staff to be very friendly, professional and expedient. The food was mediocre at best. We started with the sauteed calamari, which was overcooked and rubbery, and swimming in a pungent balsamic vinegar broth that brought tears to my eyes. The salmon was oversalted and undercooked, and served on a bed of raw arugula that didn't work well with the fish. The potatoes were cooked to the point of burnt. There was also a liberal dosing of again, balsamic vinegar on the plate. The chicken was prepared well, but served on a huge pile of mashed potatoes with a very greasy gravy. I will say that the cocktails were outstanding and we'll be back for drinks the bar, but with the abundance of great restaurants in Seattle, we wouldn't be back for the food.

We would normally never question the unbiased review of one of our guests and we believe this review to be sincere, but we would like to correct a couple of inaccuracies.

?..the sauteed Calimari, which was overcooked and rubbery, and swimming in a pungent balsamic vinegar broth??.

This dish has no balsamic vinegar and is, by far, our most popular appetizer.

?The Salmon was oversalted and undercooked, and served on a bed of raw arugula that didn?t work well with the fish.?

The bed of ?raw Arugula? is actually a salad of fresh baby Organic Arugula which is lightly dressed with lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil.

?There was also a liberal dosing of again, balsamic vinegar on the plate.?

As stated in our menu, the Salmon is drizzled lightly with an 8 year old aged Balsamic Vinegar.

We do appreciate the compliments and appreciate the constructive criticism as well.

Wow! What a great place! – I recently had a wonderful surprise Birthday party at Il Bistro. We had eight people. What a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely fabulous! I had the Halibut and haven't had a better meal in my life. The mussels were to die for! The service was so prompt and attentive. I will definelty recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family! We all loved the round tables so we could have a conversation with all. The atmosphere was beautiful! Thank you Il Bistro! I will be back.
