Great venue to see emerging regional acts like Macklemore to national touring icons like Prince. Ticket and drink prices are always a bit spendy and seating as in most venues is almost nonexistent but it's always a great night out.
Notti Gyrl and Notti Boi Clothing. Twila Macedo presents Notti Gyrl and Notti Boi Threadz Clothing now in Seattle, L.A., and New York, weather your going to work to the club or to bed after all the above...GET YOUR NOTTI ON!!
halloween party.
The event was lame when I went...they just want your money. Lots of crowds and staff were rude.
I went to Bone Bash the previous year- no crowds to wait through and awsome dancing and auction items- Plus at least your money there is going to a charity and not to a sleezy bartender! I wont be back to showbox
best venue in the nothwest! A perfect circle. amazing venue if your not a jackass security is tight and there pretty rude but what ever dont be stupid and it will be fine i fully enjoyed every minute of APC there and would love to see another show there if it was the right band.
Snoop Dogg. The showbox doesn't care about its customers. They will sell you a ticket and make you stand in a crowd for hours without telling you anything. If the act is 5 hours late they won't tell you. I would never go to another show at the Showbox. Good luck trying to get your money back!
BARS.
We went to the Lucinda Williams show on Nov 14th, the show was great, but the bartender was rude and way out of his league, we had drinks at the bar, and to see the show we had to turn aroungfd to watch her perform, never moving from our spot, upon turning to take a drink, both of our drinks were gone along with the money, the bartender said he didn't do it, and the female bartender said if the drink was not in your hand they will take it, and the money is considered a tip (normally this is called theft)
upon listening to other customers at the bar they were not happy with his service and had to walk over to the bar and get a drink and then return to there spot at his bar, also, he would poke customers with a stick and yell at them to get away from the front of his bar, the lad has no business working in a club of this standard, (note, it was the bar by the ladys room) I and the group I was with feel he should be dismissed, gives the place a bad name
too late..... My girlfriend and I went to see Augustana at the Showbox last night but didnt actually get to see them play. The tickets said the concert started at 8...and I understand you usually add about an hour and a half or so until you see the "headliner" perform. So, we got to the showbox at about 6 to have some drinks in the Green Room, which was a very fun experience for us...good food and drinks. If your in the Green Room then you get into the show first before the the line of people outside, which is nice. So when we got inside, feeling a little buzzed at this point, we grabbed a table and ordered another drink from the bar which is when I asked "when will Augustana be on?", and their reply was "there scheduled for 11pm." 11pm??? are you kidding me...I am 25 years old, have a job M-F, and live about 45 min away from Seattle...so I basically spent $55 bucks for tickets, $20 bucks for parking and couldnt stay awake long enough to stay to see them play. It was a great place, but wish they didnt start 3 hours after they had advertised. Not sure if I will go back because of this experience.
Don't sleep on the showbox. I've been to many shows in Seattle. This place is damn near the best. The crew is on point, the security does their job, and the sound delivers. Capable of having 1000+ shows and one of the prime spots to see the best hip hop shows in town.
Best place to see a concert. Floor seating would be a nice addition, but for acoustics, view, drinks while you watch and ambiance, this place is unbeatable
Best concert venue and drinks.. I love the atmosphere when you walk into Showbox. Open layout and bar set-ups on both sides of the venue. Best place for concerts, drinks and just a cool place to hang out with ya girls or boys.
Love the Showbox!. I have found bands here which I'm sure were difficult to book yet somehow Showbox did it. Thank you. The bartenders are always super-nice to me, but then I'm always super-nice to them. That's how it works: I smile when I make a request, they smile when they pour. I've always had a great time and it seems everyone else was having a great time as well. It's a nice-sized venue where it's large enough to get some good acts to Seattle but small enough to chat with performers after the show.
