Capitol Hill's Finest Indian Food – I've been on a search for the finest Indian food on Capitol Hill, and I've finally found it...India Express. The quality and service are incredible. The flavor of the Chicken Tikki Massala and the Chicken Vindaloo are wonderful. Also, the entree's have large portions of meat that are cartilage and fat free. Even the extra hot dishes have great taste. I personally like my food spicy, verging on incendiary. After asking for the cook to make it hot enough to make my eyes water, they were happy to do so. To round out the experience you will find the staff to be courteous, helpful, and friendly unlike others in the area that smother you with curt to rude service. The parking can be tough, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, but everything else about the experience makes it worth while. Give India Express a try. You won't be disappointed.
Great value! – I'm an Indian food addict, and so far, India Express is my favorite in Seattle. The meal price includes rice, they have a wonderful vegetarian selection, and everything is flavorful and delicious. I particularly recommend their Malai Kofta . . . undoubtedly the best I've ever had.
Consistent Quality – This place has absolutely great, friendly service and a great menu. The menu prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is pretty casual; it's definitely not a fancy night out on the town type of place.
I enjoyed the Saag Paneer. The amount of spiciness you can order on most entrees is on a sclae of 1 to 5. I found 4 to be nice and peppy, but others found it way too hot.
I was a little disappointed with the lunch buffet. It needs maybe two more main dishes, and definitely an additional vegetarian entree. Granted, the price ($5.95) is good, but it would be perfect with just a copule more entrees. (To be fair, I've only had the lunch buffet once)
I have eaten at about 7 Seattle Indian restaurants. This is the one I would recommend to friends.
