Local and organic is the name of the game at this largest natural food co-op in the U.S. You'll find everything you need here - from bulk grains to sweet treats. They also offer a ton of cooking classes and demos.
This Seattle flagship based organic chain has a deli and well stocked bulk, produce and health & beauty departments. Be sure to check out their PCC Cooks classes, a bargain at just $45.
Great place to grab picnic provisions for a picnic on the lake.
Great source for organic produce. Also! More than a grocery store, PCC also offers cooking classes with some truly stellar local talent. Look for classes on topics like canning, cheesemaking and more. Also with local fave teachers like w/Iole Aguero, Becky Selengut & more. But sign up fast - classes fill quickly.
member owned – I shop at PCC mainly for the organic produce as well as the sense of community that comes from being part of a co-operative. I've met some very interesting people at the hot food bar, an unexpected social perk to my shopping experience. They do charge premium prices for the organics, but so does everyone else because organic farms aren't subsidized the way conventional farms are.
Great Market! – PCC can always be counted on for their great deli selection for those days when you just don't feel like cooking. They have fresh, healthy and imaginative entrees and sides (like the Kale Caesar salad) that fill you up with great taste and good nutrients. I love their extensive cheese selection, and they have a nice range of fresh olives as well. Produce is consistently good, and if you're a member you can get 10% off your purchases once a month...can't beat that with a stick!
pricey – parking can be a pain the the deli prices are sky high. good selection but this is just like Whole Paycheck....
