Possibly the best happy hour in Seattle.
I had a friend bring me here for happy hour once and he told me that you get a met burger and fries for 5$. I was shocked because the met is so expensive usually. Well when I got there I ordered the burger. It was amazing. I didn't think it would be that good. You must come to the met for happy hour!

Awesome place.
My first experience at The Met. It was great. That place was really cool. Great people working and eating there. We walked in on a friday. there were no tables but we waited for a couple of seats to open up at the bar and we ate there. Great service, We had the Chateubriand with a side asparagus. The Filet was delicious, everything was great. Definately go here and check this place out. Its one of Seattle's treasures and you need to experience this place once.

awsome.
I had a ceasar salad and flank steak. Pretty standard right? That was by far the best ceasar and the flank steak mouth watering. My date was impressed and we had fun . We did not like the wait but after it was all said and done it was worth it!

Met Grill Bar Scene Much "Lighter" than Restaurant.
The bar at the Metropolitan Grill is one of Seattle's most established after-work "cocktail" spots. The quietly elegant entrance (amidst busy valets) gives way to bustling and frequently mobbed bar scene. The clientele are a bit older, certainly more established, but the specialty of the Met Grill is providing fine food with elegant service -- and that applies to all who enter.
The bartenders are knowledgeable and consistently good. A simple martini is a delight. Fruity drinks with silly names get equal attention (although with perhaps a hint of cocked brow). All the restaurant foods are also served in the bar, and while the entree salads are quite sufficient, the real reason to go to the Met Grill (aside from the opportunity to ogle its "famous" guests posted on its walls) is definitely the meat. The steaks served at the Met Grill rival any of the big chain steakhouses.
If you go, prepare to spend the time to enjoy your meal, and be prepared for a bill to match the experience.

Great atmosphere with great service.
The "Met" is a classic steakhouse with big portions, elegant interior, and welcoming staff.
I've been bringing people here for lunch, dinner, and happy hour over the years and have never been disappointed. The bartenders remember your face and drink, and the entire staff, from the valets to the tuxedo-clad managers, smile and say hello.
The filet is amazing, and the rich bread pudding with Maker's Mark bourbon ice cream is a must.
Though a few things have changed at the Met over the years, it remains one of the quintessential steakhouses and rightly so.

Not worth the $.
Ok, as a local I've been to this place 5 times in the last couple of years and I've had it.
When I pay $50 or more for a steak I expect it to be cooked as ordered. Or close to it. I eat it rare or medium rare, depending on the cut, this is likely the most common way that patrons of The Met order theirs. The steak has not been less than medium-well on my last 4 visits. Simple. On each occasion the waiter has offered to bring another, but I will not in good conscience send back a steak after having seen 15 homeless guys on the way to the restaurant, it doesn't work that way. On the last visit I was offered a free dessert. Yeah, nice and cheap guys!
So that's it, I will not risk losing another $50 on a well done steak at this place. It's all El Gaucho for me from now on, never a problem there.

Disappointed.
I was recently at a family birthday party dinner at the Metropolitan Grill... I was happy to give up my coat to the waitstaff to store it in their coat check, and didn't think twice about my wallet being in it in such a high-end restaurant. Not noticing it's absence when I left, I was unhappy to find out the next morning that it had been stolen, and over $1,500 in fraudulant charges accrued around town on my credit cards in the late hours of the night. I contacted management at the Met to let them know of the issue; they were defensive, claimed it highly unlikely that the theft occured, but offered to send a gift certificate in the mail for a future meal, as the circumstantial evidence of the theft was overwhelming... Weeks later, the certificate hasn't arrived. I've tried to contact them, and receive no return calls from management. I didn't ask for the certificate; that wasn't the point. The point is, they weren't concerned with fixing their staffing issue, nor with following through as they said they would. Very disappointing. The food's good, but not worth the price or, in my case, the aggravation.
