Great Food - Great Price! – I have been going to HoHo Seafood since 1986. It has been the same great food and friendly service since day one. My favorites are the General Tso's chicken (order it spicy), the Crispy Halibut, the Beef with Oyster sauce and the Spicy Garlic Sauteed String Beans. Now even my kids love it. We dine-in and take out it makes no difference. Eat at HoHo Seafood then go see the Sounders or the Seahawks or the Mariners. Everything is right there close by. Enjoy - Two Thumbs Up. Scott
Yummy Chinese Food for Anyday, Anytime! – What more can you ask for? This place has got to be one of the BEST Chinese resaurants in Seattle! Everytime I've been here, I've had a good experience with the wait staff and the food is always delicious. You can tell the owner really cares about her customers and makes sure you will be satisfied with your meal! This is actually quite a surprise and something I really appreciate, since I've noticed that many Chinese restaurants dont exactly put customer service at the top of their priority list (take Purple Dot, for example...the hostess looked peeved and stared at my family with an unwelcoming look). Their decor and fairly new remodel is even much more comfortable than your average Chinese restaurant.
Eating seafood here is a must. They are most famous for their crab! But even if your just looking for a simple, cheap meal, their staples like chow mein/foon, stir fry dishes, and fried rice are great too! You know, I also have to say this restaurant is underated as a late night restuarant. When club goers and late night eaters have the Chinese munchies, they flock to places such as Honey Court and Purple Dot. I guess a lot of people don't know that HoHo is also open until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays! This place (and atmosphere) sure beats crowded restaurants filled with drunk people. It also helps that the waiters are nice and patient with you while you are drunk and oblivious/belligerent/sick/whatever =).
Give this place a try. You won't be dissapointed!
my china town fav! – Ok as a seattle native I am no stranger to authentic cuisine and have long fancied the international district as a fast getaway to the exotic. Several years ago a well travelled friend of mine took me to this restaurant for some of what he acclaimed to be the best variety of authentic hong kong cuisine seattle has to offer. I was hooked. I can honestly say i have walked through the streets of seattles international district in search of some competition and have yet to find a place as consistant, friendly and casual as this resurant. No matter what night you drop in and at what hour you will likely be greeted by the friendly staff and encoureaged to bring your friends to share some food and comradery....open 24 hours 7 days a week and even 365 days a year your can get a bowl of the best seafood won-ton soup north of sanfrancisco's own international distict. so as chinese new year comes to an end i welcome the year of the ox ( a little tid bit of info the friendly hostess shared this evening) and kudo's to you, ...it's been 5 hours since i left you and i still could not eat another bite!
One more friendly tip, try the almond chicken. it's to die for.
Best Chinese food – The food here was exceptional - from the green beans to the fried tofu (outstanding!) and the hot & sour soup. The owner was very welcoming. I was in town on business and was brought to Ho-Ho by my associates - everything was yummy. The hot tea was a nice plus... I will be back whenever I am in town!
Cheap but tasty food on Fri and Sat night – Love the green beans dish and the crab with green onion and garlic(southern style) But do pay attention when you are going to visit the restaurant. For cheap but tasty food, do go there on Fri and Sat Night! Why? Cuz they have two chefs. Of course, the Fri and Sat Chef cooks better. They also offer cheap but a little bit above average lunch, VERY CHEAP - Like $3.95 for tomato stir fried with oyster sauce beef. The restaurant has been open for more than 15 years. There is a reason why they stay in business for such a long time.
Delicious Chinese Food – If you are looking for delicious Chinese food then this is the place to go. Depending on the time of day you may be greeted by the owner/host Pauline who is very attentive and super nice. We've had several family dinners here and the Peking Duck and the Honey Walnut Prawns have been on the table each visit - they are to die for. The service is excellent and the food scrumptuous.
Worst restaurant !!! – MSG, MSG, and MSG. The food here is ok, but the manager always pretended to be nice. Her responses to my questions about the dish names were terrible. My wife was pregnant, but the food had lots of MSG. My wife felt terrible after the dinner. DON't go to this restaurant unless you like MSG. My family will never go to this restaurant AGAIN.
Best Chinese restaurant I've found in Seattle. – Peking or garlic style spareribs (sweet), egg noodle chow foon, or wonton soup are great choices. Wonderful good at very reasonable prices! Excellent customer care, especially by the restaurant's manager - Paline!
The finest and freshest chinese seafood – For Chinese seafood, this restuarant has great quality and originality -how chinese food should be prepared. Being Chinese, I am very finicky with the quality of food, especially in seafood. The fish must have been one of the freshest I have had, it melts in your mouth !! The dungeous crab is absolutely to die for, Pauline, the owner/host at the restaurant is most knowledgeable, she explains the ways each dish is prepared, I really appreciated the service and the quality of food at HoHo Seafood Restaurant. I would return to Seattle just to eat here, again.
New Remodeling + Same Great Food – The decor has been remodeled, and food is still great! If you want to impress friends with good Chinese food then come here and get one of the ?group deals? that are priced around 160-180, and you will get more than enough tasty food to cover the largest table at the restaurant. They got rid of those cheesy stuffed seafood animals hanging from the ceiling, and now the place looks much nicer. Lately the quality has been great and with good consistency. The ?almond chicken? is wonderful, and I haven?t seen a nicer ?bird?s nest.? The Peking duck is the best in China town. The ?jelly appetizer? is well worth trying. The Mongolian beef and beef fried rice are always winners. The service is good, but sometimes understaffed. During the evening this place can get busy, and messy tables will take a while to get cleaned up. If you do takeout, be prepared to wait double the proposed time for pickup. The price is very competitive, and the quantity ratio never let me down. This place is open very late, closing around 4AM, on Friday and Saturday nights. HoHo has delivered quality consistently, for a decent price, which makes this place a very nice option in China Town.
