This historic saloon has been serving up good food and hard drinks since 1892..
The Scene
The oldest saloon in Seattle is a true Pioneer Square watering hole. Thirsty patrons perch on stools facing the time-worn bar while party-goers head further back to check out the live entertainment. From cafe to post office to full-fledged brothel, this joint even survived Prohibition. In 1990, new owners restored the hard-liquor license so regulars could once again pick their poison.
The Draw
True bar food is served here. For the lighter appetite, nibble on a salad. Burgers and sandwiches are sure to please anyone and hearty plates from the Grill & Smoker provide satisfying meals. And don't forget, everything tastes better with a squirt of Central's Original Klondike BBQ Sauce. Live music fills the room every night. Knowing that some of the Seattle's hottest grunge bands got their start here in the early '90s makes the $10 cover look like quite a deal.
