I pile of lettuce for $8.50???? – I went to Delfino's for lunch and I ordered a salad which end up being a pile of lettuce, two slices of tomato, 3 olives, few carrots and lots of croutons. It was hard to eat it because the plate was too full. For $8.50 I was expecting at least some cheese. My husband told me he ate there 10 years ago and he hasn't being back. I will never be back there again.
MAJORLY DEEP DISHED PIZZA! – This pizza was amazing, not only was did we get a stuffed pizza with our topping but a small was filling for the 2 of us. Now a days a small usually can never get anywhere even for just one person. But with the thickness of this crust and the amount they fill your pizza with when you choose the stuffed pizza you will not have any room for dessert. We even had leftovers between the two of us and we're pretty big eaters.
Worst pizza ever and service wasn't much better – An absolute insult to Chicago style pizza. The disappointment after waiting 30 min. for it, just added insult to injury. There was no buttery flaky crust! The sauce was tasteless! The cheese was no frills! I'm hoping the girl was new to the place, cause she was clueless. Everything we asked her she had to go find out about it. Even if you really crave Chicago style pizza, skip this place.
Disappointing to a Chicagoan... – Wow, I was really surprised to read all the positive reviews Delfino's received. I grew up on Chicago-style pizza, and not the Pizzeria Uno stuff - the *real* stuff: Gino's East, Giordano's, so maybe that's why I was totally disappointed by the pizzas my husband and I ordered at Delfino's. Tasteless crust, bland sauce, goopy (not stringy rubbery) cheese, and ... where was the spinach? I understand there aren't very many restaurants that offer Chicago-style pizza in Seattle, but I'd rather eat peanut butter and jelly than spend 45 mins waiting for this ...
Favorite Pizza in Seattle!! – My favorite Pizza place just got better...the new decor nicely compliments the amazing Chicago Style Pizza! I always count on Delfinos for the great stuffed pizza but now I can count on a nice atmosphere too. For those of you yet to experience the stufffed spinach, you're missing out! The staff is friendly and I love ordering more than I can eat. The pizza makes for excellent leftovers, perfect for tomorrow's lunch.
Good pizza worth the wait – The pizza is usually quite good. Inconsistent though. The prices are a little high especially for a salad to accompany dinner. Overall better than most.
Deep-dish pizza that's worth calling ahead for. – The Scene
When the friendly server says the pizza will be ready in 20 or 25 minutes, that's a good sign the families and students milling around this University Village pizza joint are getting darned good slices. It's also why this neat, clean little place urges patrons to call orders in ahead of their arrival.
Chicago-style is the draw here, which means a stuffed pizza with fillings slotted between two crusts and tomato sauce on top. Deep-dish pizzas and thin-crust varieties are also available. They're all baked in a 1958 Faulds rotary oven whose industrial beauty serves as a diversion for those who didn't heed the warning and ordered on the spot. Spinach, cheese, sausage, pesto, vegetarian and other traditional toppings are available--nothing avant garde, just time-tested, sensible ingredients.
Good Chicago style pizza. – My boyfriend and I called in an order and picked up our pizza. We got the stuffed spinach pizza and added mushrooms and sundried tomatoes. The pizza was really good - better than any pizza I've had in Seattle so far. Maybe it wasn't the best pizza I've had in my life, but it was still really good, and I'd take it over Pagliacci any day.
Mixed review.....still best pizza in Seattle! – Having just moved here from Chicago...I was pleasantly surprised to find this place. I have gotten take-out twice now; ordered the special both times. The first time was wonderful...great toppings and baked perfectly.
The second time.....I went in and ordered my pizza. Went to wait the 1/2 hour at the bookstore next door, and when I went back to pick up my pizza they realized they had never even put it in the oven. It was just sitting there still. So, another 1/2 hour later....picked up the pizza and took it home to find that it was the soggiest crust I've ever seen for deep dish. It was to the point where the "crust" was sticking to the paper box and I was chewing on cardboard. Not what you expect when you spend $25 on a medium pizza(which is enough for 4 or 5 people, easily).
Good stuff – I was hosting a meeting and got a good variety of pies. Everyone seeme to really enjoy them as did I. Staff was very friendly and helpful throughout.
