Strange but great pickins' – I've only gotten the burgers here, but they are GREAT! Juicy and flavorful and strangely placed on the menu next to teryaki dishes. That's part of the appeal though: you can find a tasty burger in a joint that has an identity crisis. For students, it is reasonably priced and their fries are FANTASTIC especially if you like them a little more salty than average. Highly recommended for a good hamburger.
It's definitely nothing fancy, but this U-District dive turns out one mean cheeseburger. – The Scene
Since it's just steps away from the University of Washington campus, the clientele is almost exclusively starving students, save for the occasional burger fan on a carnivorous pilgrimage. This is no place to impress your date--the wallpaper is peeling and the service is curt, but it's all relative when the cheeseburgers are this good.
There's a bit of an identity crisis at play here--teriyaki, Japanese katsu and a few lonely salads share menu space with the burgers. The teriyaki is surprisingly good--light on the sugar and heavy on spice, but the classic grilled burgers are the main attraction. They're juicy, simply dressed with iceberg lettuce and beefsteak tomato--they're also a bit on the small side, so order a double and don't forget the slim fresh-cut fries.
