Say what you will about corporate chains--mom-and-pop stores never gave you this kind of selection. – In Short
This musical monolith has all its bases covered. With clearly divided genres and strict alphabetizing, no one will get lost looking for their favorite tunes. One of the biggest sources of Tower's popularity is undoubtedly the plethora of listening stations. Customers can hear dozens of new releases to see if the radio single they love is the album's only good track, or indulge their curiosity about international or classical artists.
Still the best! – Since Tower has moved into it's new location it has moved back to the top of my list of places to visit for new music and dvd's. Easy to get to and the cities largest selection of new releases and imports makes this the "go-to" place for musicphiles. Prices are fair, parking is free, and the customer service is excellent. Four out of for stars.
Expensive, ever-smaller selection – Tower has clearly made some choices in the past two or three years, and none of those have been for the better. They used to have a broad -- if pricey -- selection. For the last two or three years, however, I've found that ever time I go in, they have place holders for my favorite bands, but no CDs. Their formerly expansive classical selection has dwindled to little more than Charlotte Church and the Three Tenors. All this for $16-18 a CD. Forget it.
