Seattle >Food & Dining > Sam's Sushi
Great food & good people. Ok, so after going to just about every sushi resturant in Seattle, gotta say I just love Sam's. Located on lower Queen Anne (and close to Key Area if you are going to a concert, basketball game, etc.), this is your ideal neighborhood sushi resturant. Not fancy, nor does it have to be. The staff is great, friendly and service always helpful. The food is moderately priced, portions good and seafood always fresh. Good sushi at a good value and strongly recommend this for your everyday, jump in or pick-up sushi within Seattle.
Great People - Great Location for a Neighborhood Place. This is one of the local spots in the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood where you can go for a good in or take out order. The fish quality is pretty good, the rice fresh, and the soups like the vegetable or beef udon are great for a cold day. The owner and employees are very nice and conversational. If you want to drop a lot of money for the best sushi in town, go to Umi, but for people who want to eat sushi often and not completely break the bank (and who live in Bell Town/Lower Queen Anne) Sam's is it.
Great Service, O.K. Sushi. Fast and attentive service! Although, a lot of rice included and not much fish, and a little pricier than an average low-key sushi bar.
Reasonable Prices on Average Sushi. There is nothing spectacular about this place, but the prices are reasonable for the food. A lot of rolls are about $5 and are pretty good size. We ordered the lobster roll ($9) and deep-fried cream cheese spicy tuna roll ($6). The food wasn't amazing, but we were satisfied with what we got for the price. The inside is stereotypical but clean, and we got decent service too.
Not bad for a pre-game or movie soosh hit. Don't expect to be wowed by Sam's. It's not bad but it's not amazing. The prices are fair and some items are better than others (ask the server what's freshest and press them past "it's all fresh"). The decor is bland and stereotypical. Go for a quick hit when you're expectations are set a bit lower.
FAVORITE SUSHI RESTAURANT. Besides the quality of the sushi and the food in this cozy restaurant, I was drawn in and made very comfortable and welcome by Sam and his staff. Sam always tries to have a personal touch with is customers, specially if you frequent there and sit at the bar. He always have the local sport teams on TV and always welcomes a good conversation. Sushi and fried calamari are great and have been going back here with friends for 3 years now. Have not gone to a sushi restaurant quite like it.
not great for the price. Ordered salmon terriyaki and chicken terriyaki to go for 7.50 each. It included dried out fish and chicken with little flavor. At least the portion size could have made up for the paltry execution. Don't eat here if you have the chance to hit another great Sushi restaurant. Or, if you want to go cheap, try Blue C Shushi in Fremont. MUCH better. At least the food tastes fresh and for 16.00 you can have your fill of a variety of food.
yeeeeeuck!. I just ate the worst sushi I can remember eating in recent history. It was late, most of my favorite places were closed, and I didn't feel like driving far. Shame on anyone who recommended this place! I trusted your good reviews ... never again will I eat here. Poor quality nigiri with too much rice...I could barely eat it. Sure it's cheap, but the sushi is terrible. Paying the $60 bill for dinner hurt like a punch in the face. I won't even discuss the service since the sushi was so bad, it's a non-issue Real sushi fanatics, you cannot eat here. Save your $$ for wasabi bistro, shiro, nishino, or chinoise. Oh well, the miso soup was good...but how?
clean and cozy. Sam's sushi is a cozy and friendly place to have sushi. It is clean and fresh. The price is very reasonable and the owner is great. I highly recommend this place.
Excellent Sushi!!. Sam's is wonderful!! There are a lot of Sushi places in Seattle and we keep going back to this one. Good for Sushi "to go" also. Good prices, good service, good location... and Sam, the owner, is pretty funny too!! Always has the local sporting event on TV. Highly Recommend!
