I love the Mecca. What other dive and Seattle Institution gives you the best tuna melt under the sun and a waitress who makes one hell of a good bloody mary? Mecca is one of the best things about living in lower Queen Anne. If you haven't been here, go.

Mecca Coffee Rules. Oh, the coffee at the Mecca is like rocket fuel, only stronger.

The drinks at the bar are equally as strong.

The breakfast menu is heart-stoppingly awesome.

Don?t make the pilgrimage. My last visit to the Mecca was my last. All my friends and I wanted was some food and drinks. But all we got was the worst service (thanks in large part due to the lying, dimwitted, neanderthal bartender) I've ever had. Then, when I complained to the manager (I'm not convinced he really was the manager, but he claimed to be), he kicked me and my friends out. At that point the s--- h i t the fan, words were exchanged and I may have poured out my beer on the service counter. Anyway, the staffs' response was to follow us out on the street and try to start a fight. Really? Anyway, the place was once great - a true mecca of dive bars and diners, but now your better off going grabbing a d i c k's burger and heading to the Streamline. If you do go, I suggest the old dine and dash - they don't deserve your money!

great breakfast. perfect spot for a greasy breakfast to cure your hangover. great bacon, chicken fried steak and most importantly great spicy bloody mary's

tip top two top tolerance, plus awesome hairfood. this place is great... stand in line with a friend on a busy weekend morning and they'll let you know that any four top that comes in behind you will be seated first. i love such honesty! also, their scrambled eggs come with not one but two pieces of hair. and it's long hair! i can't wait to go back. this is the hippest place i've been in a while.

If you like the 5-Point.... You'll probably get on well on a stop to its sister in dive bars down the road, the Mecca. The food's just as good and is a greasy spoon lover's paradise. Real food, real drinks, no funny business. The bar side's tiny but adequate to get your drinks poured with a hefty dose of what'll cure what ails ya.

Shokingly good food in a Dive Bar!. In a place like Mecca, I expected frozen mozzerella sticks and greasy fries...but its exactly the opposite! They have my most favorite fries in the world -- they're brown and crisp and you get a ton of 'em for cheap. My standard is the club sandwich: thick cut bacon. I also like the tuna melt & dig the cole slaw. Oh! Oh! And the open faced turkey sandwich is better than my mom's Thanksgiving bird and comes on homemade egg bread, with mashers and genuinely good gravy, and really good cranberry sauce with actual chunks of cranberry. Dont stray from the greasy spoon: even the waitresses have told me the salads su!ck..

Excellent watering hole with good menu.. People will rave about their breakfasts, and with good reason. I had an amazingly thick blueberry waffle and real bacon. None of the flimsey, microwaved crap. The staff and customers were so nice that we went there three times in two days. We felt like regulars.

A Queen Anne institution beloved for both its potent pours and letter-perfect diner fare.. The Scene
Mecca is considered a dive by some, but it's certainly a cool dive. The narrow confines of the bar are frequently packed with an engaging mix of regulars, many of whom leave their artwork on coasters which adorn the wall behind the bar. The adjoining diner is lined with vintage vinyl booths and most of the decor has remained unaltered since the cafe's inception in 1929.

The Draw
Stiff drinks at fair prices attract a mix of hipsters and blue-collar workers. The late-night scene can get a little rough, but the general vibe of the eclectic crowd is surprisingly harmonious. Hungry revelers looking for fuel can't go wrong with the menu--everything from the classic French dip to the contemporary cobb salad is made from scratch and consistently executed. The kitchen also turns out some of the city's best breakfasts, thanks to top-notch ingredients like thick-cut bacon and fresh-squeezed juices.

Best Breakfast. The Mecca has a fair share of star visits. Bands, actors, and other random famous people show up here in the wee hours.
