I like this place!.
Wonderful bacon maple bars. Like having a breakfast of pancakes with syrup on the go!!
Cafe VIta coffee is a good alternative to Starbucks.
Small shop but nice location near the beach & park..
Best Apple Fritters in Seattle. Madison Bakery has the Best Apple Fritters in Seattle. They are by far my favorite in the City. Nice little globuals of dough with apple all stuck together with a nice light glaze. Really great! Also love their Brunch Rolls. They are the perfect size and you can take home three kinds for your Brunch. People always ask where I get them an they're always a favorite!
I'm a maple bar fanatic. I've tried them all and this is the best so far!. I've really enjoyed thier Maple Bars. A better choice than Krispy Creams. My kids like this place, and we've all decided it's worth the drive from the other side of town.
Best cookies I've had. I've lived here of 8 yearsThis is a great discovery. I didn't think places like this existed any more. A real old-fashined bakery with cookies, donuts, pies, cakes, etc. No sandwiches to speak of but a rich ham and cheese croissant. The latte was good, better than the Starbucks down the street. Nice atmosphere, and a friendly salesperson helped me. You can smell cinimon rolls all the way down the street!
good standard offerings, but expensive. Donuts, breads, cookies good. However, the bakery has gotten very expensive since the fire a few ywars ago. Yearning for the good old days when quality was high and prices were well worth it.
Cake and cookies for well-heeled families in upscale Madison Park..
The Scene
Forget healthy, seed-laden artisanal breads. This is your Grandma's bakery--and it still believes in sweetened doughnuts. Since opening in 1929, Madison Park has been a local landmark for scrumptious pastry and breads, in addition to specializing in wedding cakes. Older locals embrace the sweetness, sauntering in for a loaf of bread or calorie-rich snack to nibble on.
The Food
Decadent eclairs, expensive cream cakes and simple, essential kids treats--such as dinosaur-shaped sugar cookies--are stocked in the sizable display case. While cakes are not sold by the slice, cookies are plentiful, from cinnamon snickerdoodles to petite chocolate thumbprints. Breads range from affordably priced French loaves and crusty Italian breads to fresh-baked hamburger buns and sandwich loaves. Expect a big emphasis on sweet rolls, coffeecakes and other sweet breads like the cinnamon-raisin loaf.
Great Cake and friendly service. I loved their champagne flavored cake.....It was to die for!! I had to ask why their confections tasted so good. They informed me that they make all cakes, pastries, and cookies from scratch using old style methods. Not only were they rich and delicious but they didnt make me sick like alot of sweets do. They now have a new cake decorator I found out, with 7 years experience so that explains why my cake this year turned out fabulous. I Highly Recommend ordering a cake from here....you'll love how it looks and if your disappointed with how it tastes....wow.....you have some messed up taste buds!
don't get wedding cakes there. was at first pleased with their service and offer to make a duplicate top layer for your first anniversary. then they screwed up delivery and refused to give discount for mistake, so our cake was not exactly as we wanted for our wedding. after numerous attempts & complaints, they finally grudgingly gave small discount. a year later, i call to ask for my free anniversary cake and am told the owner 'doesn't want to do it' and the icing i wanted is conveniently not in stock. for a bride this is a stressful situation and i wouldn't want to deal with such mean service again.
Disappointment. After reviewing other people's review of this bakery, I decided to purchase a b-day cake for my mom here. The cake was adequately decorated (which was fine), but the taste was a big disappointment. After taking a slice, I thought I may as well have bought a store bought cake. The cake was mediocre in flavor and the frosting was grainy. Will never order from them again.
Tasty but not very satisfying. If you're in need of service for your special event, don't expect the folks at this bakery to make you feel like they've got it all taken care of for you. After having been there twice already to pick out our cake, the week before our wedding we had to remind them again of who we were and what we wanted for our wedding cake. When it arrived, it was very pretty and it did taste good, but it was not quite what we ordered. This didn't seem to be a one time occurrence with them, as we experienced the same kind of difficulty communicating a year later when we tried to order an anniversary cake. Their customer service leaves you quite unsatisfied.
