In Short
Started by a childbirth educator, this is a comforting space for women in waiting and a child's first weeks (and years). Most staff members practice in the "field," and hold titles such as "lactation consultant" and "midwife." Chairs for nursing, photographs of mothers and children, and soothing music set the maternal tone for garnering information on local midwives, doulas, childbirth educators, photographers, and massage therapists.
