Disgusting, Diseased and Discourteous – I've been coming to The Fish Store since I was a little kid in the '80s, and oh, how I wish I could travel back in time to those days. While I am by NO means an expert aquarist, I would hope that a specialty shop like this would know a little more than I do (not to mention, being a little friendlier).

Not only did they sell me five misidentified juvenile fish on 1/24/10 (3 Red Phantom Tetras were sold as female Black Phantom Tetras [different temperaments, red phantoms are fin-biters and pick on tank-mates], and 2 Flying Foxes were sold as Siamese Algae eaters [HUGE DIFFERENCE in how large they will grow and behavior; flying foxes are EXTREMELY territorial, cannot be housed with another of their kind or body shape, and will severely bully tank-mates ]), the three Tetras were so infected with parasites, that one died within a week, and the other two are still in a medicated hospital tank, and are very unlikely to live past the next day or two. After I was able to re-home one of the Flying Foxes, the other seems okay, other than biting and bullying all of his tank-mates.

All in all, a very disheartening experience, and I do not plan on returning any time soon.

Expensive but you get what you pay for – Great Selection. The most educated staff by far. The rude guy doesn't work there anymore and when he did he taught me a good lesson on learn before you buy. He just lacked some comunication skills. Acrylic tank prices the best you will find. The fish and coral are very healthy and high priced. Staff is the best. Friendly and ready to help. I would sugest a visit and get on the mailing list where you get 1/2 price cuppons and other great exclusive offers. You will be happy you saved.

Best fish store in town – Great selection of fish and a very knowledgable staff. This is a great store. I stop in there whenever I can and always feel welcome. When I need help, it's there.

Great fish, evrything you could ever want and a knowledge bank of staff – I keep hearing what jerks the employees are. I have never found that to be true. On my first visit I was treated politely and set up with everything I could possibly need to raise my new brood of fish. The man who waited on me was vastly generous with his information and even built me a better light system than I had while I waited. Since then I have been in several times. I always feel I could spend the day there if I choose and as soon as I want is someone who knows just what I need. I like these guys!

Maybe they are nice because I don't go in thinking I know everything and need to point that out to one and all. Some prices are a bit high, some really great but this is a place you can get high end equipment and someone to tell you just how to set it up and use it. Petco has its place and so does the Fish Store. Hope they stay forever

Way Overpriced on Fish Supplies! Unique and beautiful fish selection. Dead Bettas. Disinterested college-slacker employees. – I was amazed with the incredible variety of aquarium fish that The Fish Store had to offer! They had a wide variety of gorgeous, exotic fish.

I went there on a Saturday afternoon and the store was crowded. There was a well-informed owner and a handful of slacker, hipster U.W. students shooting the sh*t at the front counter. Nobody said ?Hello! Do you need any help?? Nobody even looked interested in helping any customers.

Sadly, It seemed that they overlook the Betta Splendens. I saw a poor little guy floating in mucky, green water. His body was covered in a blanket of incredibly old algae build-up. Bettas may live in shallow rice patties and puddles in the wild, but they have the ability to jump into cleaner water, if conditions become horrendous. This little guy was dissolving into goo because nobody added any fresh water to his minuscule cubicle for a very long time. Nobody even noticed he?d been dead for probably a month.

I came to The Fish Store with the intention to buy a mere sponge filter for my ten gallon tank. Seattle metro area is severely lacking in pet stores! My only options were Petco and The Fish Store. I purchased a Jungle brand junior sponge filter for $9.99. Typically, these filters are priced at $4.99! I felt as though I got ripped off! I noticed that almost every aquarium product seemed outrageously overpriced. A coconut cave was $10.00! Yikes! I could buy five coconuts, drink the milk, eat the meat and make my own damn coconut cave for that price.

I would suggest going to The Pet Store for fish only! Buy your other fish products online or from another store. Try Liem?s Fish store in the International District for your exotic fish. At least Mr. Liem seems interested in your actual business than local rock bands and keg parties.

maybe its time to close up shop? – Staff give it up , why do you guys have to be such diks. Puck ,if you dont like you jobs ,quit ,please . And to the owner please think about shuttin the doors, your an old school store that needs to go away, the 80's are over !!.

Why is it that your turkey azz workers always out number me 4 to 1 everytime im in your shop.

I guess you need to raise the prices so high to pay them , please follow crossroads and close.
