Nice and Careful Movers – This company is run by a very nice man that wants your move to go as well as he and his crew can make it. They took meticulous care in shrink wrapping and blanketing my specialty itemsThis extra effort makes me almost not care how long it took for my things to go back and forth. All pieces arrived in the same condition as they were in before they were moved. Thanks!
Great guys - we trust them! – Stories on this company:
1) We hired a different moving company 2 years ago when we moved. They showed up and said they couldn't park their truck anywhere near our place because they were scared about the pavement being too wet and the hill too steep. Long story - won't put it all in. Owner of the bad company called Sunshine Movers and they saved us! They showed up after they finished another job that day and worked late into the night in order to get us moved that day. What a relief! We thought we were going to have to pay another month's rent!
2) This time we called Sunshine Movers first to move us from our apartment into our new condo! They did a super job, friendly, efficient, were careful with our things, even brought extra boxes and protectors for our new wood floors! Amazing!
We recommend them to all our friends!
The no show moving company – Sunshine was due at 9am, never showed, never called, didn't respond to my calls. Left me stranded, also didn't bother to get back to me with estimate. Owner apparently just left for a month's vacation. Did you know that he rents out his company when he leaves town, according to him? Stay away.
Sunshine Movers response – We feel a need to respond to the negative, false and misleading posting on 11/9. The experience that this one time customer is referring to was a very unfortunate one for the business. We will try to explain the facts. This person, a young man, called to schedule a move of his family?s goods into storage. We scheduled the move for the next day. It was a large job, and took two days; one day for the packing and loading of the trucks, and the next to move the items into storage. This young man and his father agreed to pay for the move once the items were placed in storage, and the father signed the bill of lading. (Please note that we do not sign ?contracts? to receive payment at an undefined future date). When we arrived at the storage facility on the 2nd day the customer was not there to meet us. We instead received a call from the young man who told us that he was at an important business meeting and promised to pay us ?tomorrow?. We took the customer at his word and moved the items into storage, with the account in the name of Sunshine Movers. But we didn?t receive payment the following day, as the customer didn?t call or return our calls for two weeks. This pattern continued for the next four months, with the customer promising to pay, making arrangements to meet for payment, and then not appearing for the appointment. Because the storage account was in our name we were forced to pay the storage fees every month. We followed the law as stated by the Washington Transportation and Utilities Commission, and sent this customer a letter stating that the goods would be salvaged due to non-payment. We waited an additional 30 days, as stated in the law, and when payment was still not received we liquidated the goods. Our company took a substantial loss. This was a very unfortunate experience, and we sincerely hope it won?t happen again.
Smooth move, recommended – Sunshine Movers was recommended to me by a friend. I gave them a call and was impressed by the manager of the business, he was very responsive and took time to answer my questions. I had a couple of special requests and he was able to handle them easily. He even disassembled and reassembled some of my furniture during my move without any extra hassle or any extended amount of time. So my move was easy and hassle free, and I was glad to have the recommendation.
NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE!! NEWSPAPER WORTHY!!!! DO NOT USE!!! THIEFS!! – We moved from The Highlands in Seattle and needed some time to find our next home. We indicated that we were to put our goods in storage, naturally being 20+ years of things and a 9,000sq ft home there were a LOT of things. The movers told us they had their own storage that they could move the items into, upon agreeing to do so they packed our stuff over a period of two days and moved it into their storage unit. Apparently, the Department of Transportation has no authority once it goes into a storage unit, shame on Sunshine Movers for taking advantage of the situation!
We contracted with Sunshine to compensate them at the time when our things would be moved into the new home. A few months later they became sick of paying the storage fees and immediately started demanding payment, we referenced the contract and Sunshine got an attorney, we had our attorney talk to theirs and struck an agreement to abide by the original contract. During this time, we realized that Sunshine had to issue us, by law, a Bill of Lading. They NEVER PROVIDED US WITH ONE, however, their attorney faxed us over a FRADULENT bill of lading with an unknown signature!
Upon finding the next house, we contacted Sunshine to retrieve our belongings as per our contract, they informed us that TWENTY YEARS worth of goods had been disposed of TO THE DUMP and that we still owed them money! I quickly filed a report with the Attorney General?s Office, who kicked it to the Department of Transportation, who then told us they did not have authority to do anything given that the goods went from a residence to storage. Sunshine OR their attorney did not even have the courtesy to call us to pickup our things, they simply discarded all of them. We are currently in the process of filing legal action against Sunshine Movers and Emad Al-Mosawi, the owner. If you value your things, don?t look for a bargain, pay more, and deal with honest folks. BEWARE!!
Slow and miserable experience – To start off, they were two hours late which didn't start the morning off on a great note. They didn't bring a large enough truck and the move was painfully slow. So slow, they had to come back the next work day which caused many scheduling conflicts on our end. And even though I confirmed twice before they left when they would arrive the next day, they still showed up late on day two as well. Due to the lateness of the move, all furniture and beds were left unassembled. When I went to use the washing machine the next day, it too was broken as well as several other kitchen and fragile items.
Instead of loading our medium boxes onto dollies like all of our previous movers, they carried things one by one, which again was painfully slow and expensive since we paid by the hour. To top it all off, "Amed" tried overcharging us for both his time and packing supplies so be sure to itemize their expenses to avoid being overcharged.
Overall, we were very unhappy with these movers that we chose as a direct result of their rankings here, and do NOT recommend using them for any type of moving services.
Very good! – I've hired these guys twice. Both times they were prompt, efficient, and friendly. They're the best moving service I've used, and I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.
Very satisfied! These guys are great. – I am thoroughly pleased with Sunshine Movers. I found them on Citysearch and didn't have a whole lot of time to shop around for other movers. Sunshine was available when I needed them so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. Emad was professional from beginning to end. He returned calls promptly and answered all of my questions beforehand. The day of the move, they showed up on time and ready to go. Emad and Alex have their system down -- they know how to move and pack their truck efficienctly. They took extra care and specially wrapped my antique pieces. I had some random things that I thought would be difficult to move -- but they said "no problem" and then followed through on all of my special requests. Sure, they took a few cell phone calls (as another review mentioned) but it didn't slow them down overall and I appreciate that they need to take/return calls to keep their business going. I had a ton of stuff and they had to navigate stairs, so it wasn't easy, but they handled everything professionally and courteously. Also, they were honest and fair in quoting/pricing. I highly recommend Sunshine Movers.
Great! Very careful movers. – I recently used Sunshine Movers after reviewing them and other movers on CitySearch. We interviewed a few runner's up, and found Sunshine Movers to be the most accomodating to us. The fact that they don't nickle & dime you over anything and offer complimentary use of their wardrobe boxes was a big plus. Also, they delivered boxes and packaging material to our home - all of which were very competitively priced. Emad and his crew were very nice, friendly and hard working. I would recommend anyone use Sunshine if you are concerned about your special belongings. They were very gentle with everything, including an antique piece I was especially concerned about. Nothing in my lg. home move was damaged at all. Thanks Sunshine!!!!!
