Not a great value – Having lived down the street from Jones, I ate there often, but only cuz it was close. Service is slow, but more importantly they charge a lot for their bbq, which is just ok.
Pretty disappointed!!! – Service was great. Food was OK. Place was clean. The meat was so hard and the sauce that goes on top of it was OK. Some ppl might enjoy it. Its just not my kind of ribs and I had better. I must praise again that the CUSTOMER SERVICE was great !!!!!

It's not the ritziest neighborhood around, but people aren't cramming into Jones for the atmosphere or the view of the tire store across the parking lot. Inside a grayish-blue building that's seen better days, grandmas, hep cats and the occasional guy in Tevas line up to wait for Styrofoam containers full of brisket and potato salad.
Seattle doesn't have much good barbecue, but it does have Jones. Smoky meats are smothered Texas-style in tangy sauce that's so tasty, you'll be sopping it up with hunks of white bread. Tender brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage paired with a side of crisp, slightly sweet slaw, creamy potato salad and baked beans--it's a delicious feast. Cool things off with a slice of sweet potato pie or refreshing lemon cake.
RIBS DONE RIGHT! – Jones bar-b-que ribs are the BEST in the area 2nd to none. The ribs are tender lean and meaty. I go and buy a rack (best value at about $20) and that is enough feed my entire family of 4. Take it home and we FEAST! There is always a line of for lunch or dinner! This joint is popular so I am glad they have a great order/fulfillment process down so you will not wait too long..
The fuss? – What's all the fuss about Jones? The meat is good...awfulyl good in fact, but the sauce...what's up with that? Dixie's has got people in this town thinking BBQ = spicy as hell, but it just ain't so. I've had more BBQ meals than good nights' sleep in my life and Jones, while the meat is stellar, just loses me with the sauce.

The best – I have tasted bbq all over the US and JONES bbQ IS ONE OF THE BEST THAT MY FAMILY HAS EVER TASTED.THE RIBS ,CHICKEN,LINKS,BEANS .AND I CAN GO ON BUT I FEEL THAT THEE PEOPLE ON THE EASTSIDE AND DOWN TOWN SEATTLE SHOULD JUST TASTE JONES TO SEE WHAT THEY ARE MISSING,THEY ARE MY CHOICE FOR 2002 WINNER FOR THE BEST.
The Real Deal – I've had the pleasure of living in some great BBQ cities. Atlanta, Memphis, Dallas, KC, and Chicago all have their BBQ claims to fame. Now Seattle joins their ranks. Jones is not only the best in Seattle but also arguably one of the best places for BBQ in the nation.
Jones is perfection. The spicy sauce builds its heat slowly. Their sweet potato pie is smooth and light like custard. Jones funky location is very much a part of the great BBQ mystique and confirms, to the true BBQ devotee, that you have arrived at the right place for some serious Q.
Living in a city that ranks Tony Romas as the #2 BBQ spot I had nearly abandoned hope of tasting good BBQ without leaving town. I was delighted when a co-worker enlightened me to Jones. No gimmicks, now clowns no scene, just straight BBQ.
Absolutely!! – Jones is the best barbeque that I have ever had in Seattle. Frankly, I was shocked when I saw that Tony Roma's was ahead, but you have to acount for some people's bad taste... However, Jones is an adorable hole in the wall in south Seattle, with loads of charisma. If you choose to sit down, which the locals rarely do, you will be welcomed with takeout containers of the best barbeque you will ever have here. In addition to their exquisite ribs, the greens and baked beans are also worth getting.
bbq done right – these are the meatiest ribs around and the brisket is lean and tender with just the right amount of smoke flavor. Hot links are a must try because they are Jone's own recipie. the pecan pie is outstanding as are most of the rest of the deserts.
