Best Tavern food around.
I go to the Hhighliner at least 6 times a month and the service always great and the food is the best. Best tavern food I've eaten in a while. Sounds like foodfad has an axe to grind in my opinion. I say go and have a great time and make up your own mind!

Great Music, Great fun, Plenty of food and parking. New owner..
The HIghliner Pub in Ballard at Fishermans Terminal is a great place to have dinner and dance. The dance floor is open every Friday and Saturday night. And where else in Seattle do you actually have room to dance? The new owner is GREAT and has remodeled and is ready to rock and roll. The bands change from Rock n Roll to Zydeco, but there is always something to swing to. The fish and chips are great and the Prime rib dinner ROCKS!! Go early and wander around the pier. This is where the crews keep their fishing boats during off season, including the "Worlds Deadliest Catch". Great fun.

Don't bother.
We used to be regular customers at The Highliner, going down at least once a month for dinner, drinks and to listen to our favorite band, so it's not like we're new customers.
Since May, the service and the food have gone steadily downhill. We went in August and waited over 2 hours for cold fish and greasy chips. We never did get a refill on our beer. But we thought we'd give it one more try in September. Anyone can have a bad night, you know? We waited for an hour this time, and got cold, greasy burgers. Ick! We had to go to the bar for our drinks and I paid $6 for a half glass of wine. The servers came to our table when we were about halfway through our dinners and rudely informed us that there was a $10 cover and we could pay it or leave right then. I couldn't believe that they'd charge a cover when the service and the food were SO bad, but since we love the band, we paid. Given the cover charge, we didn't order anything else and the owner let us know that we weren't welcome back because of it. So, I guess our spending almost $100 on our evening wasn't enough?
We found out later that the band won't be back, so neither will we. There are MUCH better places to listen to music, with a smaller cover and decent food and service. Save your money and go to them.

The Fisherman's Wreckroom.
I've always had a great time at this place, nestled inside the Fisherman's Terminal on the South side of the Ballard Bridge. Great fish & chips, and the music on the weekends has always been fantastic, and free! Definately worth a visit!
