This stellar Mediterranean deli serves up soups, sandwiches and a sea of fresh salads. Generous portions, and affordable prices mean you can almost always count on a line. Eat in at the small counter or grab your booty to go for a picnic on the waterfront or in Victor Steinbrueck Park--both are just blocks away.
This eclectic takeout joint adds an air of sophistication to lunch on the go. – In Short
If the waft of sweet garlic doesn't pull you in, the hearty sandwiches and Italian dishes displayed in the front window will. In addition to French, Italian and some Mediterranean specialties, Michou draws crowds during lunch time with fresh seasonal salads and daily homemade soups. The small space fills up quickly during lunchtime, but patrons graced by fair weather can enjoy an outdoor meal two blocks down at Victor Steinbrueck Park.
I want the pizza – This narrow place is you and a large glass deli display. Initially you see a tempting pizza but keep going. It may be crowded but remain calm and scan the bottom of the case for all sorts of fresh vege and pasta salads. Above those you will see an assortment of panini sanwiches premade/ but still very fresh and ready to be pressed. You can order just a half like I do and a small scoop of whatever salad for close to 5 bucks makes a perfect lunch.. Theres only two bar stools of seating so you have to take it to go. I love the variety and unique salads they have to offer.
