Bar food that's served 24/7, breakfast is served anytime, guaranteed to clog your arteries with greasy goodies like chicken fried bacon. Happy hour is a great deal and rolls out at the usual pre-dinner time frame, but also early in the a.m. for those who work through the night. Mid-day diners lean toward burgers and massive sandwiches. Skip the fries on the side and go for the Tater Tots.

Five Point Cafe doesn't deserve one point – I will never go back to this place. My group (5 people) went here for dinner while the snow was falling in Seattle and our work put us up in a hotel in the area. As soon as we sat down, the bartender (Derek) threw an attitude to us. He was pretty demanding as "happy hour" was ending in 7 minutes so we had better hurry up and order our drinks. I guess he didn't realize we were sitting there for almost 10 minutes already. He took our drink order and then disappeared for roughly 20 minutes.

He then came back and took our order. We got the mediocre food. My partner ordered the chicken fried chicken that wasn't even cooked through 75%. We couldn't say anything Derek because he was too busy behind the bar to come over to us. When someone asks for a side of ranch to go with their appetizer, you don't expect it to come with your dinner after the meal is almost over. The overall food was mediocre at the best, cold gravy and the meatloaf had hard crunchy things in it. Finally when he realized we were done eating, he brought us a check with everyone on one check. We asked if he could split it up for each person and that's where the trouble started.

He said that he could split the check if we would have told him at the beginning. Since we were on an expense account we had to have split checks. He again started with his bad attitude. I tried to explain what we needed to do and he then again repeated that if we would have told him in the beginning he could have done so. I told him that if we can get 5 copies of the receipt that will satisfy our expense reports and we would run each persons card on the one tab. he said that would be okay.

When we figured out how much each person was supposed to pay, he threw a huge attitude saying that's not what he was told and that we need to pay it all at once. I tried to explain to him what we were doing and he told me i need to lose my attitude. I wasn't giving attitude, just trying to explain. I've never been in a restaurant that couldn't split a check after the fact, even if it might be a little inconvenient for the staff. Having Derek say "I've never had to put up with bullsh*t like this IN MY LIFE" pretty much sums up our thoughts as well.

We finally just put it all on one card and left, hoping to figure out how to do expense reports after the fact.

Again, I will never go to this place ever again.

Just received a reply from the owner on our review on Yelp... the owner's reply is basically "Well I wish we could review the customers" meaning he thinks he was there when we were and actually has a problem with us. This just solidifies the kind of a-holes that work in and run this place.

Monopoly on the all night crowd, and they know it. – Used to eat here all the time. Loved the place. Moved away and came back, apparently the 5 Point is under new management.

Here's the deal. I like greasy spoon, hole-in-the-wall joints like this. I don't expect a four course meal, or a fancy maitre d' in cufflinks. But I do appreciate a little respect.

I come in, ask for a table near an outlet.

"Why?"

"So I can use my laptop."

"There's one in the corner on the dining side." brusquely, with a wave of her hand.

"I know you guys are closing the dining area soon, and I was hoping to not have to move tables. Can I have a seat in the front?"

"Well, there's a table up front, but it's a four person table, and you're going to take up too much space when the bars let out and our regulars come in."

The table in front, that she was referring to could barely sit two people. Or, one person with a laptop, some coffee, and an omelet.

This entire conversation was peppered with eye rolls, sighs, and dismissive glares. Apparently, the waitstaff at the 5 Point are too cool to waste time talking with you, and unless you've groomed your reputation as a "regular" here, don't expect anything above a condescending attitude.

I'll go out of my way to eat at Beth's, from now on.

Great service, bad food! I am bummed out. – Wow, I used to eat here often when I lived in the neighborhood.........5 years ago. Now, I go every few months and have not been disappointed until today. New owners took over a while back and I kept hearing how they weren't going to change much. They cleaned it up a little, which never bothered me anyway. but the food today was HORRIBLE! The 1/3 lb burger was thin and sort of burnt. I used to love the fries that were fried in the super old oil. But they cleaned the oil and now the fries look and taste like they were undercooked and then sat under a heat lamp for thirty minutes.

The taco salad was packaged salad with a little cheese on top, a few tomatoes and onions served in a crispy tortilla shell. I did order it with chicken which was bland and scarce. The salsa was good though.

It seemed to me like they were trying to cut food costs with really cheap quality and serving size. It's changed more than I'd like with the new owners and not in a good way.

The waitress was awesome and nice, I really liked her. The service was great.

New Owners, Great food, Best Happy Hour – Seattle's oldest family owned restaurant and the oldest bar in Belltown got new owners late last year. They've cleaned this place up just a little, expanded the menu, and implemented one of Seattle's best happy hours. If you live in Seattle, you already know. If you're visiting, this is an historic place that many have referred to as the "Soul of Seattle" and the World's best dive bar. It's also a great diner. Check it out:

Open 24 hours in the heart of belltown – I love that the website states that this is a place for alcoholics serving alcoholics. Its great that they are open 24 hours for people who need to get their food and drink on at various times of day. Bloody Marys are pretty good and they do have a few tofu items on the menu. I never would have guessed though had someone not clued me in. Service can be slow and you may have to wait for a table, its also not the nicest place and the one stall bathroom never goes well with alcohol especially since it doesnt have a lock. Definetely better breakfast place than some and anywhere you can get breakfast with alcohol is certainly a bonus. Near the center so good for pre or post funking of events.

Get OVER IT SERVICE PEOPLE – First of all for all the critics of getting good service at any 24 hour joint in city...SHUT IT!! If you came to this place to eat then expect to be there a little bit. You have a cafe with a staff that is open 24 hours a day and putting up with a different variety of customers on all levels. I have been to the 5 point on numerous occasions and my experience there was GREAT.....because I came there for one purpose...to eat some comfort food! I wasn't expecting the best service at all...even the best food....but when I want to enjoy a belly filling meal...that is the place to go.

I gave a rating of 4/5 because I do enjoy great service....but this is not the reason why I go to the 5 point. I go cause if I want to eat a big breakfast anytime of the day they have the best meal for your buck! If you want posh service go eat at Salties on Alki!! Get over the service there people....its not there to comfort your feelings!

WORST SERVICE EVER – Just a little history, I am in the military and I have been all around the world from Korea to the Middle East. This place has the worst service I have ever experienced.

My mother in law and step son came to visit and I figured I would take them there for breakfast since it is right around the corner.

I had my 4 year old son in a stroller that folds up and the five of us strolled in there and went to the back of Five Point. The waitress walked up and stated " This is not going to work". I then explained to her that I was going to fold the stroller up and stow it. She looked at me with a confused look and said "how many are you?" I was going to ask my 4 year old to count for her but i saved her the embarassment.

I then decided not to stay and eat I told her ok were not going to eat here and we got up and started to leave. She then stated No I would like to serve you guys and I said No we are leaving she then stated there was no where else to get breakfast, I looked at her like she was crazy. I asked her if I could speek to the Manager and she raised her hand and said "Here I am" I was in shock.

You figure with the economy in the shape it is the service would be more inviting. If this place makes it I will be surprized, the service is everything in todays time and ths service here sukks, I think the manager should be canned like tuna for being sutch a &*()%$

Best Bartender in Seattle! – Don't listen to the negative nancy's below... this place rocks! We stopped in to load up on drinks before a concert and found the staff to be awesome and the regulars to be even more awesome! I'd love to go back or even reconnect with John and "Jack"! Why... why didn't I get email addresses! haha. Oh well, back in indy now. :(

Thanks for entertaining us on our last night in town!

RUDE STAFF! – Avoid the extremely rude staff and very poor quality food. I'd rather get a convenience store hot dog!
