The quintessential neighborhood watering hole, this spot makes strangers feel as welcome as the legions of loyal regulars. Crowds go for the juicy burgers and in the warm weather months, there's an outdoor patio few know about.
The sign dangling outside the Two Bells tells you all you need to know: The place serves famous burgers. There are several on the menu, including the tavern burger (with bacon and grilled onions), the blue burger (with bleu cheese), and the mushroom burger. But the classic is where it all started, and a great reason to visit this place: five ounces of freshly ground beef charbroiled to order and served with mayo and mustard on a sourdough roll. One of the juiciest burgers around!
superior burger – Forget red mill and all the other junk. This is by far the best burger I have ever had. And they don't even need the fries. It is carnivore heaven!
Great Place To Meet Friends – Great Place to start or end a night in Belltown. Get there before 10 and enjoy the awesome food. There is a shelf in the back with games and books and a small patio too.
Best local bar – My favorite local bar to hang out in - strong drinks, great selection of beer, super delicious food that's more healthy than the usual dive bar fare, friendly staff, and they even have lots of board games you can play while you hang out if you'd like!
if you like grease dripping down your arm... – So i came here with my friend for lunch because we heard the bugers were good. the service was okay, u got to get their attention and when we ordered, u can't get fries with your burger... yeah... wtf?? and we both bit into the burger and the grease would just drip down your arm, it was tasty and moist because there's so much fat in it.
A twist to the burgers – Have you ever had a burger that serve on a baguette? If not, you must visit this place. Not because I was hungry when I showed up here but indeed it is one of the tastiest burgers I have acquired. The service is so-so and definitely need a beer to go with the burger. If only if, there's french fries with the burger it would be perfect or better yet... how about tater tots?
Best Chicken Sandwiches Hands Down – I no longer live in Seattle but I never come home without a stop at Two Bells. This is a funky little place with loads of character from both the staff as well as the setting. They have a great assortment of beer (man do I miss being able to get my hands on Mac & Jacks African Amber) and the best chicken sandwich I've ever tasted. The burgers are great too. My husband and I moved away almost 5 years ago and we still talk about how much we miss this place and wish we had something like it down in MS. Oh, and if you're there in the summer, check out the outdoor seating in the back - it's hidden but worth looking for.
Casual watering hole with the smoky patina of a well-loved neighborhood joint. – The Scene
Patrons settle into the wood booths or the U-shaped bar for a brew and a burger or a glass of wine and a sandwich. The music is usually picked by the staff, although celebrity musicians in town occasionally show up unannounced to entertain. Both patrons and staff tend toward the artistic side and small-scale exhibits of drawings and paintings rotate on the tavern walls. A greenery-and-flower-lined patio lies out back, though patrons are expected to order before heading that way.
Two Bells is mostly a beer-and-wine place, though many think there isn't a better burger in Seattle. Ground fresh daily of brisket and round (with enough fat for flavor and juiciness), hand-packed loosely, grilled to order, presented in a hunk of chewy, crusted baguette, the Two Bells burger earned renown from day one, which was in the early '80s.
A guaranteed good meal and the best soup and burger sides anywhere. – On the one hand you have a really cozy neighborhood atmosphere, great food (no deep fryer!) and a nice beer selection. On the other hand, atmosphere has a lot to do with whose working on any particular night. I always look in the window before going in - if one of the three friendly bartenders are behind the counter, I go in for a guaranteed pleasant evening. If not, I go somewhere else - if the wrong person is behind the counter, there's a good chance I was better off staying home - especially true on Monday nights. The cooks are great - the soup at 2 Bells is the best anywhere, consistently delicious and adventurous. Although they are known for their burgers on sourdough, everything is great - including a perfect steak. The sides of potato salad, baked beans and coleslaw are among the best examples of each you will ever taste.

There are many reasons that I rue the day I left Seattle, and 2 Bells is high on the list.
Best burgers in Seattle (and the world?), hands down. There ain't no denyin. And if you say no, you lyin.

Perfect for low key, no pretense, chillin with friends and eating good food, in contrast to the increasingly awful Belltown. (What's goin on Seattle? You're loosing your vibe.) If you are a Californian who now lives in Seattle, you probably won't understand what I just wrote, so talk to a Seattle old timer (pre 1990s) and figure out how what you can do to help restore the Emerald City to its previous level of coolness. Anyhow, the 2 Bells is one way of getting in touch with it. JUST SAY NO TO YUPPY CORPORATE CULTURE.
OK, if I *have* to say one negative thing about the place, the service can be a little...uneven. That shouldn't stop you cuz the place is all that and a bag of chips.
Grouchy Server .... no smiles here – The hamburger was okay..a lot of bread but good flavor. THe beer was offered in a cold glass or bottle... nice touch!.
The server should remember that she is there to be pleasant. She barely acknowledged us as being there. Never smiled and did just bare minimum to say she worked there last Sunday. I hope she knows that her tip was more reflective of the food and not of her lack of personality.
