Incredibly bad auction house. They steal your merchandise by giving vague descriptions and using terms like "miscellaneous" so that you never receive compensation for all of your items. The owner is mysteriously never available and the manager is a half wit rude jerk. The lies told to us we're staggering. A sham of a business. We are looking into legal recourse. This business should be shut down!
Amazing auction. I just attended my first Pacific Galleries auction and it was great! The staff was very helpful and answered all of my questions throughout the process (I had never signed up for an auction before). I really can't wait to consign some items here and make some extra $$$. Seems like there is a pretty loyal following at this auction house, better get on board.
Really Bad Business. Horrid! The staff is totally clueless, rude, mean, stupid and incompetent. Mike, the "manager" is a rude clueless arrogant individual who had the nerve to actually tell me off for correcting him on one of my items. I even had papers to prove the authenticity but he in his arrogance decided that he was right and the papers were wrong. I could clearly see after dealing with him why there have been so many complaints and as a result decided not to sell my items through this place. Their loss my gain. There are other more legitimate places in Seattle that have people with real knowledge working there and who are helpful as I have found. I was able to sell my items at twice what Pacific Galleries told me I would get dealing with someone else and it was a legitimate description. I would never buy or sell anything here as you will either overpay or lose money. Shame on Pacific Galleries for being the worst auction house around.
Dishonest Business. Be careful what you buy here, they are very inaccurate on the descriptions and the rude salespeople don't know anything. I bought a vase here and it was totally a fake. I had it appraised and was told by the appraiser that it was worth a tenth of what I paid and the original would be worth what I paid for it. The tag clearly said it was an original so I paid a high price based for a fake item. I have since returned it but it took a lot of pressure on my part for them to take it back. I can imagine how many people ended up with fake merchandise but didn't know. Bogus place with bogus items. I will not be back.
Not a good place for authentic stuff. Staff seems to lie to sell you something. Even though I knew two items I was interested in were obviously mid-century, the sale lady kept insisting they were antiques. I am a bit of an expert on those particular items having collected them for over 20 years and being well versed in their history. The sales lady, however, seemed more interested in arguing about how right she was instead of being a little enlightened by a stranger Anyway, that told me that the staff does lie to sell you something. This place takes in a ton of anything and everything so expect that most items will be mislabeled and knowledge of the items will be sparse to inaccurate. The potential to overpay for an item here is extremely high, a big minus in my book and one that should not be overlooked by buyers.
Huge, huge antique place. This place has a lot of really great antiques, but includes eclectic and modern as well. The staff was really helpful as well.
