Citysearch Editorial Review. The prominent location of Pho Hai Yen on Rainier also means the dining room looks out on a busy street. Luckily, turning your gaze inside, the brightly colored chopsticks you use to eat will be dwarfed in color by the large screen playing Vietnamese music videos. Despite the name, Pho Hai Yen actually specializes in Bun Bo Hue, a soup from the Hue region of Vietnam—pho is from Hanoi. This spicy soup makes the trip to Pho Hai Yen worth it, with hints of lemongrass and various bits of pork floating about. Be sure you are prepared for one of the main ingredients—pork blood cake. Even if you are just in for a sandwich, though, service is fast and courteous.
