do NOT go to this place – She is not professional at all. It was my big mistake to try this place before checking the online reviews.
don't even bother with this place – The stylist/owner needs a lesson on professionalism. The first time I went with a friend, he told us to come back at a certain time that day. When we returned, he said that somebody else had come in, someone he thought wouldn't make it. Might I add that this person was standing there blow-drying their own hair...We rescheduled (BIG MISTAKE) and when we returned, he didn't even show up. His assistant called him and informed him that he had a customer and he said he wasn't coming in that day. (What the heck?!) Please don't even bother going there...! I would also have given zero stars if possible.
Absolutely terrible!! Stay away!! Do your own hair; you couldn't do worse! – I went in JUST to get my hair straightened for a night out. No cut, no color, no "style". I thought that there was no way this could be ruined, that it couldn't take very long, and that it couldn't be very expensive . (After all, I do it every day for myself without much effort.)
I was far away from home during rush hour and just needed a quick straightening for a relatively casual function, rather than driving home 30 plus miles and back to do it myself. I can straighten my hair in 10 minutes. They took over an hour. It was NO straighter than when I do my own hair, (in fact, it lasted all of an hour once I stepped outside, whereas my straightening lasts for 18+ hours.) Their straightener was cheap and made steam sizzle off my hair. She pulled my hair out several times with the wand and seemed completely ignorant to how badly she was doing.
I could have overlooked all this. The time? It was fine, I could be a little late. The pain? Ok, it faded after a few minutes and I could excuse it, if the end result was good.
She charged me 18 dollars. EIGHTEEN DOLLARS FOR A STUPID STRAIGHTENING! I can get a decent haircut for 16 dollars at any number of other salons. I asked her out of curiosity what they charge for a haircut, and she said "25". So they charge only seven dollars more for designing and orchestrating a haircut than they do for running a wand through someone's hair.
The owner of the salon, "Patrick," is a pompous tool. He absolutely ruined my friend's beautiful long hair a couple years ago, b/c he couldn't resist chopping it into "avant garde" designs she did not ask for. She warned me to never go here. But I was in the neighborhood, and I thought there was no way they could mess up a simple straightening. I will never make this mistake again.
I have no problem paying money for things that are worth it. But when I'm asked to throw away money for a worthless, skill-less task, I can't help but be annoyed. The audacity.
NO customer satisfaction here! – In the asian community, the stylist (also the owner), is very hyped about. I decided to give the place a try. Call in ahead and was seated on time. I'd showed the hairstylist the haircut I wanted straight out of one of the magazines he had. He then went across the room to grab another magazine and said, "How about this one?" I said, "No, I want my hair to be like this, full hair with light soft bangs." He then pointed out to the magazine he was holding and said, "It's the same thing, it's just mine is flat iron." He seems overly confident so I trusted him and letted him go away with my hair. The ending result looked HORRIBLE. It didn't look like neither of the pictures in the magazine; by far it didn't. The same day I had called back in hope that the hairstylist would help me find a solution. Not only did he NOT helped me, he insulted me. He said that I'm wrong, and when I asked for a refund, he said, "In the hairstylist world, nobody gives a refund. Go ahead and ask around." Seriously, this place is a mess. Save your money and precious time to go somewhere else.
Hong Kong Hair Salon – I would give this place no stars if that was an option. They do not shampoo your hair when they cut it and if you do not like the cut, then the owner will re-cut your hair, but charge you extra for it. The person who cut my hair thinned it too much and then flat ironed it. Steam and smoke was coming off the iron as she further damaged my hair. This place is horrible. My hair was not the cut, length, or style I asked for and I brought them a picture too. The end result of my hair was brittle, dry looking. They ruined my hair!
