Burien >
Food & Dining > Wah Kue CafeWhy all the good reviews?. Wow, my girlfriend and I are totally dissatisfied with our experience there. For a chinese restaurant in Burien, this place is WAY overpriced. $10-13 dollars for basic chinese dishes like fried rice and chow mein, are you kidding me? They have american dishes too but $8 for a basic egg and cheese sandwich on wonder bread? My pork chow mein had way more bean sprouts than noodles, I could hardly see any in that swimming sea of sprouts. I wanted a noodle dish mofos, not a bean sprout dish!!! I ordered BBQ pork chow mein and got some grey chunks of mystery pork in it as well, sheesh. This place is a disgrace to chinese food, I was actually offended. How could this place be so popular? I guess all the white people I saw there don't know their chinese food.... Well, we're never going back....
My favorite chinese restaurant. They have awesome almond fried chicken, and the BEST pork fried rice in the city. I've tried other chinese restaurants, but none compare! The service is always great, and the same friendly faces have been serving me since I was little. Parking can be a little tough if it is busy.
The best I've ever had.
This is not your average chinese restaurant. It is the best. The service is almost always extremely attentive, friendly and sometimes quite entertaining.
but what you go there for is the food. I LOVE the sweet and sour sauce and the special fried rice (with tons of fresh seafood and meat in it). Pour the sauce over the rice and you have a very special treat. If you don't like spare ribs (eating around the bones can be messy and to some gross), get the sweet and sour chicken or just order a side of sweet and sour.
All of the food is fresh and good.
Good Value. Traditional Cantonese cuisine you remember as a kid. Real egg rolls, BBQ pork and sweet & sour spare ribs. They have been doing it right for 53 years. You won't be hungry 30 minutes later.
Great American style Chinese. They have REAL sweet and sour spare ribs with the dark sauce. Not breaded with a red candy sauce. The fried rice is not loaded with grease and artifical smoke flavor or MSG. The barbequed pork is served with REAL red sauce, not ketchup. Very consistent and always good.
Bar-None, the Best Chinese Food in Town.
The Wah Kue Cafe is actually a restaurant & bar that serves the best Chinese Egg Foo Young in town. Everything they serve is fresh and tasty, and they will also make dishes "custom" for you at no extra charge!
Since it's right outside of Burien, it is a bit out of the way for most Seattlites, but it is well worth the trip. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no defined closing time, so it's always best to go during "normal" eating hours.
They also serve "American" dishes. Kids are allowed in the restaurant.
YUMMMMMMMMMY!!!. I love this place. The Garlic wings are awesome as is the Sweet and Sour Pork and Special Fried Rice.
best ever!!!.
Hands down the best Chinese Food in the city.
Almond Chicken and Mongolian Beef are
fantastic!!! Atmosphere is just what you want from a Chinese Restaurant, divey with weird wall decorations.
