LOVE IT But, – "The Cool" is a pointless store. The guy kicked me and my friend out. It's okay they only have like 6 shirts anyway.
Under-Reviewed And Under-Rated On This Site – The point of a mall is to bring a massive selection together under one roof. Following massive recent expansion, Westfield Southcenter does this in an unprecidented way.
In addition to featuring the typical mall-fodder stores, most of which feature women's apparel or jewelry, Westfield also features Borders Books, Music, & Cafe, a two-level shopping concourse which gives the centre an added element of spaciousness, and the inclusion of a nice AMC theatre (featuring IMAX) on the third level.
The parking lot is perfectly accessible from I-5 and I-405, and there is always plenty of unused parking space available. With The Cheesecake Factory in the parking lot, Target just across the street, easy access to Best Buy on the next block, and downtown Seattle or Bellevue only ten minutes away, location as well as selection makes Westfield Southcenter the difinitive location for shopping and dining in the Seattle-Tacoma metro region.
Security maintains a noticeable presence; teenager volume is standard, not visibly greater than other malls. The facility is generally clean and well-maintained.
Mall Managment is out of touch – Ive worked at southcenter for 5 years, i travel over 40 miles one way everyday....i must be an idiot also......The mall has absolutly no concern for your saftey, all they want is your cash. After the shooting, i beleive it was the 3rd in a year, they hired some new highschool kids to man the doors for.....get this.....3 days, a visible presence for a very short time.....and in this ice storm, guess what there still open cause its xmas...southcenter can kiss my a%%.... they need to step up to the plate and say hey, ya know what, theres an ice storm outside so i think every one should go home and stay safe, or jeezs ya know what, maybe scince all the shootings and killings we should install metal detectors and hire REAL POLICE to stand at the doors, hey heres one for you, how bout a dress code, im so tired of lookin at the cracks of those kids rearends i could *&^%...thanks for letting me vent....jim may
SOUTHCENTER MALL – HAVE ENJOYED SHOPPING AT SOUTHCENTER FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. THEY HAVE ADDED A LOT OF SHOPS FOR THE YOUNG SHOPPER WHICH IS GREAT. IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE THEM ADD A FEW OTHER HIGH END STORES AS WELL (LIKE YOU WOULD SEE AT THE BELLEVUE MALL). GREAT SECURITY INSIDE AND OUT OF THE MALL WILL BE IMPORTANT FOR ALL SHOPPERS TO FEEL SAFE IN SPENDING TIME AND MONEY THERE. THEY NEED TO DRESS UP THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MALL AS WELL (BY BANK OF AMERICA AND PRO GOLF DISCOUNT).
THE OLD MERVYNS LOCATION IS ALL BOARDED UP---LOOKS BAD.
THE NEW RESTAURANTS ARE A NICE ADDITION (OLIVE GARDEN, CHEESE CAKE FACTORY, CALIFORNIA PIZZA). ALL AND ALL IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO SPEND THE DAY.
Not a good place to shop – I've shopped at Westfield Southcenter a few times and each experience has been bad. The mall seems old and dirty (stains on the ceiling), and there seems to be a "rough" crowd that hangs out there. As you walk along from store to store you repeatedly get accosted by very aggressive vendors that are set up every few feet. They shout out things at you and wave items in your face as you walk by. I don't get the feeling of being safe while shopping there. The store sales clerks don't have a clue what items they carry so don't bother asking them. Shop elsewhere if you can.
This enormous shopping complex caters to both upscale and modest tastes. – In Short
Sprawling across one million square feet just south of Seattle, this mall offers over 150 stores. There is a little something for everyone - music at fye, cheap clothes at Forever 21, shoes at Aldo and lots more. More than ten restaurants like Orange Julius can be found between the shops throughout the mall in lieu of a traditional food court, and five restaurants including the Olive Garden are at the mall's edges.
Last Resort – I would not suggest shopping at Westfield Mall unless you are quite sure you cannot go elsewhere. The selection in their stores is very limited; their major department stores seem to offer less choices than the same stores found in Bellevue Square Mall. And if you venture to this mall in the evening hours, be wary of who is following you to your car. Be also wary when walking inside the mall; they seem to have a lot of loiterers. However, if you live in the south end, I guess this choice is better than some other south end places.
Westfield mall – This mall is a pretty good one. There are so many different shops under one roof..and surrounding the main mall area. It is easy to shop for several hours here. You can find almost anything at southcenter, including a lot of good restaurants. The only downside is that it is always crowded since everything is there.
Westfield is like a little city – This place has everything, toys, cds, book, clothes, and all your major department stores too. And if you don't like being in the mall, there are tons of stores around the area.
Best prices and selection – Convinient location and some of the best prices and selection can be found at Southcenter. I do all my shopping there.
