Fun times... people watching or dancing – Maxi's is entertaining.. it is an older crowd.. 40-60's. Which is great.. the women are dressed, the men are polite and the drinks smooth out the rough spots.
The parking is easy and it really is a place to meet local area singles. I always have good time.. not a place on a friday/Saturday I feel like I could go by myself as the vibe alone would be a little desperate.. but great with a wingman!
Get dressed up, stay the night in the hotel if you can and have some fun.
friendly guys – I enjoyed the mature crowd here where men have manners and act like gentlemen. They were handsome and delicious to look at. If you are a genuinely nice women and take pride in your appearance, you will love the attention here. Older crowd (my generation) means old habits though and I found that many people seemed to be waiting to ask or be asked to dance rather than just go on the floor and dance. The younger generation has no problem just getting on the floor and dancing no matter who their friend is (male or female). I find this freedom very refreshing. Here, it seemed as if the older "rules" applied for most patrons.....women waiting to be asked to dance. I'm 50 years old and came with my daughter who is 21 years old and we just got on the floor and danced with each other. Men seemed to enjoy watching and we didn't care about the unspoken ways of the club. The men approached us and said we were different than most women at the club, implying we were down-to-earth, and they loved dancing with us. There are some very good looking women here and it can be a little intimidating at first, but in the long of it personality overrides beauty for most men there. Music was a combo of past and present. I had one friend say the club almost didn't let her in because the heels of her shoes weren't tall enough....don't know how true that is, but there is an unspoken dress code....and there were a lot of cute shoes!
not worth it – i got the feeling that most people in the club were either out-of-town hotel guests (who didn't know of any other club to go to) or people from the tukwila area who couldn't be bothered to make the drive 10 miles north to seattle where there are dozens of clubs with more personality, culture, funk, atmosphere, and eye-candy than this one.
the nicest person in the club was jennifer, the bartender, who had an impressive memory for drinks and a cool head under pressure.
the music was fine, but all the other elements made the overall experience dull.
Maxi's in Sea-Tac,WA: Beware Saturday Night, Gold-diggers, and phony women ! – Maxi's sits on top of the Sea-Tac Double Tree Hotel. The food & drinks are great. The Saturday night crowd is massive. However the vibe of the club is poor ! The female patrons are "Stuck Up" ! The male patrons run around like wolves, begging these women for attention. I saw one lady crumble up a guys telephone number after he gave it to her & walked away. She then placed the crumbled number in her empty cocktail glass. Come on, if she was not interested, she should have had the decency to tell him so.
The women sit around, expecting guys to approach them. I also observed women who were with their male partners, often flirting with other men with their eyes .The single women who are with their other female friends, mostly dance with each other, and expect men to buy them drinks. Maxi's has the potential to be upscale, but what kind of people would that attract ? Snobbish, money hungry, independent women, who whine about how men in clubs play games? This review is not from anger or bitterness. I have been to many clubs on 5 continents, and Maxi's does not cut it when it comes to being in a friendly atmosphere. It's all show.
Seattle/Sea-Tac , WA has never had a national reputation as a party place, like Los Angeles,New York, Miami,Chicago & Hawaii. But what do I know, I am from Los Angeles,CA.......
