Just what you want from a local chain: good fish and a great view. – In Short
Every HomePort is located near marinas on the water and supply gorgeous sunset views through the oversized windows. Check out the fresh oysters from many locales or salmon cooked in the ageless method passed on by coastal Indians: on alder planks, imparting wood flavor and aroma. Sunday-brunch fare is served a la carte and accompanied by a platter of fruit and blueberry coffee cake.
Excellent Food! – Anthony's has friendly and helpful waiters, fantastic food, and they currently have peach desserts and drinks that will knock your socks off. It was a great experience, and I plan to go there again in the near future.
Highly Disappointing... – We should have been forewarned when the hostess asked my grandmother (using a walker) and me (cast/broken leg) if we wanted to sit upstairs (two flights of stairs...) or downstairs The inattentive waitress, after our initial order, only returned to our table after I TWICE requested a coffee refill. As she began to refill my cup, I mentioned, "decaf, right?" She jerked the pot back, saying "Oh! Me bad!", and capered away to retrieve the decaf pot filled with coffee so burnt tasting that I was unable to drink it. For approx. $14: two prawns, a "medium well" steak with the appearance and texture of shrunken shoe leather, undercooked green beans that required a steak knife to cut them, and a sliced tomato. Finally, during the meal, the lights were "dimmed" so suddenly that my grandmother jerked back from the table, looked around, and asked "Did the power go out?!"
Thoroughly Disappointing – The tables were crammed together in a scene reminiscent of a Burger King. We could barely hear our waiter over the din of the sports-bar-like crowd. The Flea Market wicker chairs had seen much better days, as two at the table had bottoms that were almost broken through! For 11.95 we received two tiny cakes with enough ginger to choke a horse! The garlic crab was not shucked, and my Fettucine Alfredo had garlic instead of Alfredo and was overly-ridden with capers! We had to repeatedly ask for a wet-nap, which (you would think) would be automatic for a customer ordering crab. At the end, only the high bill at the end would ever suggest that we had been to a nice, charming, romantic dinner. We will never go back.
