Don't waste your money, go to Scotts instead..
You pay for the view at Palisade, not the food quality. Once again I see it as a chef who cares more about being fancy than putting out the best meal. Most chefs I know are not into it for the diner, they are into their own egos.
Don't get me wrong it is a great place to impress a date and you won't walk in the door without dropping a couple hundred dollars (not including drinks) But if you want food quality and better prices go to Scotts in Edmonds. It is more upscale than your regular bar and grill and it is owned by the same company. I had the halibut cheeks at both and like the Scott's version far better. The portions were larger and the price much cheaper. At Palisade the halibut cheeks had three different sauces on three tiny slices of breaded fish. Quite simply it was trying too hard.
In my last two visits I have sent food back. If you are taking a date I recommend they order the Australian Rock lobster it is expensive but they ahve yet to screw it up. Choke down your meal while they are impressed by the slight of hand which is the service and view. Service was good when it was there but they have gone to wearing earpieces which make me think that either they are secret service in disquise or they take refiulling my water far too seriously. With all the communication gear you would think that everything would have gone faster, but alas no.
I am never quick to judge and wouldn't write a bad review after a bad dinner. One bad mean, maybe you are off your game, at two, maybe it is just me, three and it is you, I am done with throwing my money into the Palisade hole.
Great service, average food. Many people I know consider this to be their favorite Seattle restaurant. My wife and I have been there a handful of times, and have always come out thinking it's just OK. Their service is solid, but that's what I expect from an expensive restaurant. I've never left thinking the food was unbelievably good - only that it was OK considering how much I paid. It's a nice dining experience considering how much everything costs, but don't expect too much from the food - nothing special.
Great View, Restful Atmosphere, but Only Average Food. When you have out of town visitors and the weather is decent, it is hard to beat Palisades. It has a terrific view of Elliott Bay and Mt. Rainier. The decor is relaxing and the service is fine. However, the food is unexciting. They claim all of their seafood is very fresh, but that doesn't mean it is the highest quality, or even tasty. My most recent visit, I ordered a special halibut dish after being assured that the halibut was as fresh as it gets. It tasted frozen or several-days-old fresh. For the first time in my life, I contemplated asking for my money back. It was that bad. Another member of our foursome tried the "very fresh" salmon with the same result. The other two ordered steaks and our waiter reversed instructions on how well the steaks should be done (this is why a waiter should write down orders, instead of trying to impress diners with how good his or memory is). On the plus side, all of our salads and appetizers were terrific. One final peeve. When I ordered ice tea, the waiter told me the only iced tea that had was a sweet-flavored iced tea that most diners don't like. I was pleased he told me, since I hate flavored ice tea. But neither I nor our waiter could understand why they wouldn't also have regular iced tea.
Top Notch Service and Great Food!!. I recently got engaged in Los Angeles and took my bride-to-be to Seattle to dine in their finest restaurants. My hotel recommended Palisade and called them and told them that we were going to celebrate our engagement at their restaurant. Palisade delivered! They delivered a limousine to my hotel to pick us up and brought us to their gorgeous restaurant which rests nicely on the water. They seated us in a great romantic 2-seater overlooking the water and sunset. They sprinkled our table with rose pedals and included a congratulatory card. Putting in this extra effort went a long way for a great night. Their scallops and crab cakes were impeccable and the recommended salmon and halibut were expertly cooked. Our waiter was first class and I told him to bring us whatever drinks he thought would go best with our food. Again, he expertly chose great drinks for us. At the end of the night, our limo was waiting for us outside. My fiance and I loved this place and would highly recommend it for any type of celebration. This restaurant is not as pretentious as some of the other restaurants in Downtown Seattle and everything was just perfect! Thank you, Palisade!
Great food, great service, great restaurant!!!. This is my first time ever leaving a review for a restaurant, I wanted to share how wonderful my experience was. I had never gone to Palisade before and decided to take my family (who's from out of town) there for Easter Brunch. Since we made reservations (recommended), we didn't wait long to get our seat. It was very busy there and we were still greeted and our drink orders taken within seconds of sitting down. The food in the buffet was very good and fresh, the prawns and oysters were properly chilled, and their famous pancakes were hot and delicious. The entree's were all wonderful, hot, and cooked to our liking. This restaurant is a definite 10!! I would recommend it to anyone. Even my family would drive from out of town to eat there again.
Exquisite, romantic ambiance.
What a great place to cuddle with your significant other. The ambiance is so romantic. If you think you are going to get "lucky" definitely a good place for a first date or to impress someone.
The salad is primarily lettuce...
One of Seattle's best!. We have been coming here for years and they have been around for years. It is easy to see why. A consistently great product at a reasonable price! Good food, great service, beautiful decor and one of the best Seattle dinning views! A great special occasion restaurant. They don?t bring out the whole wait staff singing ?Happy Birthday?, your table is covered with rose pedals and a birthday card and a simple complimentary desert. They also have a great Sunday brunch!
A great experience for all 5 senses.
I've been to a lot of restaurants in seattle and i can say majority of the time i am very disappointed however Palisade never fails to disappoint (except for one time where the food was a little too salty).
Your attention is held from the moment you enter the restaurant; the ambience captivates you and the water decoration is a delight--even has sea life residing in it in addition to the koi fish. Try to get a seat by the windows which will only entertain you even more with the Seattle skyline.
The food is great--the servings are fulfilling and the service is great.
I recommend this place for any occasion.
Best Steak of My Life!. I have been to some of the best steak restaurants in the country and my #1 is definately from Palisade. Everything on the menu is great. It is a bit out of the way since it is not right downtown, but it is definately worth the drive. Amazing food, amazing views, and great decor. It is great for special events or just a night of fine dining.
Good View Restaurant. I always go to Palisade evrytime I have special occation. I took my clients, parents ,and also my girlfriend. They have wonderful view of Seattle, good food and good service. I highly recomend this place A++
