It's Irish And Great – This place reeks of being an Irish pub. Family's come with the kids to have dinner. The food from the kitchen is marvelous, the Guinness always good, and the bar selection is wonderful. On a busy - and they do get busy - Friday or Saturday, the service can be a bit harried, but if you're in a hurry, you don't belong in an Irish pub.

Without a doubt the WORST pub in Seattle!!! – Poor food. Poorer service. UNFRIENDLY staff.

There were only a few people there, so you'd think with several staff and a seat at the bar your drink would be looked after. Think again. The bartender Patrick makes it quite apparent he doesn't like people. He ought to find a new line of work. He rudely commented on the tip I left him. Apparently it didn't meet his needs.

I've eaten there three times out of desperation as it's on my way home from work. Each time I hoped that previously it had been an off night or the wrong choice on the menu. It seems the chef puts as much passion into his cooking as the bartender does for serving people.

What a poor addition to Magnolia!!!

I give it one star because the building is beautiful and it's clean. Maybe the owner will rethink his staff and menu and with these changes it could be the best local pub around.

TERRIBLE!! – My family and I dined at Mulleady's Irish pub last week and my husband was very displeased with the shapards pie when it got to the table. It was barely warm, like it had been sitting out for awhile. The server by the name Stella apologized and informed us that the kitchen has no heat lamp to keep the food warm. We were even more displeased when the meal was not taken off of the bill. She gave him a free beer and expected everything was to be ok. The server was very short with us and made us feel un-welcomed. My family will never attend that pub again!

I won't give Mulleady's such a bad rap – Every time I've gone to Mulleady's I've had an enjoyable experience. OK, so I'm not Irish, I don't know if the Pub is actually authentic and to be honest, I don't care. It's a nice, clean restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and the folks there seem to be enjoying themselves. The food is good, the beer selection has improved over time, the service is consistent and the wait staff is courteous. I've been there enough times to know that I wouldn't order the stew because the serving size just doesn't seem big enough for the price, but I've also been there enough times with friends who've ordered the substantial steaming Shepherd's pie and LOVED it. And please note, the BLT has tons of bacon--they definitely don't scrimp. Also, re the parking: This restaurant is located in the middle of a neighborhood. You shouldn't expect to find a (huge) parking lot. Be realistic people, this is Seattle, not Lynnwood. So go and enjoy yourself with a Lazy Boy Porter....and park along on Dravus right up from the AM/PM.

drama! FRUIT FLY INFESTATION! – i had a bad experience with the bangers and colcannon, i got f00d p0ison-ing and was throwing up all night! (i only had 1 beer) i told the bartender drew and he didnt beleive me and was quite rude, so they brought out the chef and he tried explaining to me. then a very cute waitress came up and was so sweet with me, and the chef pointed upstairs and said "go, up stairs, NOW!!" he kept yelling at her in front of me and it made me feel so uncomfortable! i just wanted to sit down and relax and the pub, NOT hear some power abusing chef yell at the employees. that guy needs to take a chill pill! i feel sorry for the people he works with, i would never put up with him talking to ME like that!

after all that drama, i decided to give MULLEADY's a second try, i got the Irish stew hoping i wouldn't get sick again. just as i was finishing my meal, i found a fruit fly in the potatoes!!! i was so disgusted AND my buddy told me right then that they've had a fruit fly problem for months! eeeeeeeeeeeeew

rude bartender!

very rude chef!

Below average at best – Mulleady's is proof that there's more to an Irish pub than simply having Guinness on tap and Irish knickknacks on the walls. I'm a dual citizen of Ireland and the USA; Mulleady's somehow manages to combine the mediocre of both great countries, rather than being any kind of inspiration. This place was lame.

The food left much to be desired. The 'County Longford Lamb Stew' resembled a French lamb stew more than an authentic Irish dish. It was full of potatoes, with barely a piece of lamb in the entire bowl. I'm serious - by the time I was done, I didn't remember one good chunk of lamb. If that wasn't disappointing enough, it was entirely tomato-based (hence the resemblance to a French dish), and I'd be surprised if there was a drop of Irish stout in it. I've had true Irish stew many times, including at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, and this dish almost made me embarrassed to be Irish.

The Halibut Fish and Chips were unremarkable at best. The halibut was obviously pre-battered and frozen, like the kind you can get in the freezer section at Costco. If this wasn't the case, then it was so badly prepared and/or horribly overcooked that I couldn't tell the difference. The batter was solid and not flaky in any way, the fish was rubbery, and overall it was absent of any real texture. The dish certainly didn't stand up to other solid fish & chips available nearby, and was almost insulting in this town of great seafood.

I give Mulleady's two stars only because the Guinness was reasonably fresh, and we didn't get ill from the food. Heck, at least if we'd gotten ill the food would've been memorable!! As it was, it was a completely forgettable experience. I wouldn't recommend Mulleady's to anyone, unless it was the only place open within miles. Seattle has far too many great restaurants and chefs to waste one evening eating dinner here.

HORRIBLE new owner – A new owner has taken over ("a couple of guys who know nothing about the bar business and cant even pour a drink"- says someone to remain annonymous) . Drinks were horrible. My Vodka/tonic tasted like straight tonic and my sister's vodka/cran tasted like straight cran. Come on- how many times have you ordered a vodka/cran has it been BRIGHT red?? Never! So anyways, we took them back and KINDLY asked for different drinks. (we went up at seperate times) and both times the bartender didnt seem to mind. Anyways, about a half hour later after we were already satisfied with our new drinks, the owner walks towards us (clearly looked like the owner-khakis, nice button up shirt and a cowardly look on his face) I was thinking "oh great the owner is coming over to us, he's going to say something nice like"sorry girls about the drinks, I hope you'll come back again" LIKE ALL BAR AND RESTAURANT OWNERS SHOULD DO! But no, he approached our table and said "we comp'd you 2 vodkas, but clearly Mulleadys is not the place for you, please never come back"!! OH MY GOD!!!!! That was THE most surreal moment of my life! How EFFING unexpected!! He also left a note when he walked away that basically said the same thing and he left his name and number. I asked the waiter to go upstairs and get him. Thats where he ran off to after he gave us his Shpeel. The waiter came back down and said "he doesnt want to come down, he said all he had to say". What an effin coward! And, by the way, if you guys know this place- they had pretty decent food. I've always liked it. Its terrible now. HORRIBLE, actually.

Boycott Mulleadys.

Over Hyped! – Lame. Another uninspired, over priced wannabe Irish Pub in America. This pub used to be great when it was in it's old location down the street about two years ago. Then they got all uppity and changed thier look and started serving food. Which by the way I would not call Irish food, Irish inspired maybe. I have been to Ireland, have lived there and can tell you Irish food is not good. Ever see an Irish resturant. No cause you need beer to wash it down. Mulleady's used to be a great after work bar. But now everything cost to much, the working guys that used to be the bread and butter clients are gone. So what if everything was bought from Ireland. Mulleady's is like the kid that stinks at baseball, but shows up on game day with all the top dollar gear. Service is on average with the rest of Seattle. There is absolutely no parking available around Mulleady's, so don't plan on driving anything larger than a mini-cooper. There are not enough TVs, no darts and they rely on the electronic juke box to provide the music. It's all about the money. They Irish league soccer and rugby teams don't drink at Mulleady's any more. And when Irish people won't goto an Irish pub then it just another wannabe Irish pub in America.

A True Irish Pub – If you've never been to Ireland and want to know what a real Irish Pub is all about you have to go to Mulleady's. This Pub could have been build in Ireland and shipped over, it's breathtaking. In fact most of the decor was bought in Ireland, the friendly bartender Henry told me. The owner is Irish and he and his business partner spent a year buying and shipping odds and ends to the US. They have two floors in the place and you could spend hours admiring the bric-a-brac throughout. The stone fireplaces are floor to celing, they have a custom skylight that lets light into the main floor and the backbar is one of the nicest in the city. They recently added an outdoor seating area, it's nice and cool in the afternoon. I had my pint outside during happy hour with one of the best salads I've ever eaten. I can't say enough good things about the place. It's a real asset to the neighborhood. Long live Mulleadys.

Poser's Need Not Apply – This a really good bar, quiet and fun at the same time. The service is prompt and excellent. I can take my friends there and have a great time or my parents and have an excellent meal. Buck's the trendy, poser bars that are popping up all over Ballard/Fremont area.

Get a tour of the men's restroom (FYI if you ask a waiter, females can get a tour too!)
