Terrible, Awful, Rude Service!.
I am so disappointed after dining at the Oxford Saloon this afternoon.
The atmosphere is neat and pretty and the historic stories to do with Snohomish and the Oxford Saloon are intriguing.
However, when we arrived, the waitress came to our table and literally dropped a pile of menus in the middle of the table without saying a word. She then walked away and came back less than 2 minutes later wanting to take our order. We let her know that we were not quite ready. She didn't come back to our table for close to 15 minutes and when she did, she had a very rude attitude like she was irritated that we weren't ready when she had come by the first time. My 5 year old son asked what sodas they had to drink and she told him "Pepsi". That was the only choice she offered so that is what he got. She didn't even say "Pepsi products". I asked to upgrade to onion rings and she informed me that they "had just served the last ones they had", so I got the french fries.
45 minutes goes by and we haven't gotten our waters or soda or any napkins or utensils. The waitress hasn't even been over to our table. When our food finally did arrive, it was the cook who brought it out. And since we still didn't have our drinks or napkins or utensils, he had to get those for us too. I must also mention that there were only 4 other tables that had people seated at them, so the restaurant was not busy at all. I watched 2 of the other tables get their drinks immediately after ordering them, and their food also came way before ours did and they arrived 20-25 minutes after us.
Nobody apologized for the ridiculous wait time, we were never offered refills on our drinks (we weren't even offered anything other than Pepsi), we weren't greeted or asked how our meals were, the french fries tasted old and were so hard they were to the point of being difficult to eat and the burger meat was thin and dried out. The food was definitely not worth the money. I experienced more professional service and better tasting food at Wendy's last week (and it was alot cheaper too!!!!!)
We should have left before our food came. It was such a rotten experience that I am still upset about it. With so many other fantastic looking restaurants right nearby, I will never visit the Oxford Saloon again. And I will never recommend it to anyone.
Also, when my son asked for a refill on his soda (he still had ice and a tiny bit of Pepsi left in his cup) the waitress told him that after he "sucks up the rest of it" then she will get him a refill. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer at a restaurant before!
Great But Spooky. I had lunch at the oxford today for the 1st time ever. my family has all eaten there but i havent and ive never heard the story on the place. its supposed to be haunted...well i never have believed in ghosts or anything like that until today...i witnesed it first hand and it spooked me. i will definetly go back...the food is great and the service is wonderful..if you ever go in there, walk down the stairs and listen. then ask the waitress to see the pictures of the cop that was murdered.
Haunting!. The food is great! Atmosphere is very homey/a little spooky. This is supposedly haunted, although the ghosts don't seem to show themselves unless you are alone. Great place to go!
