HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!. My family and I went there after a funeral to enjoy a nice dinner together. We were treated like royalty. The service was great. Our server was very attentive to our needs and was on top of our large unexpected group. The food was delicious and wellworth the price. I had the cippino - It was a very large portion. I also shared a TIRAMISU with my wife , we were blown away. The tiramisu is literally the best I have ever had. We had a absolutely great time we had a round table fit for 10 of us right next to the window that has an incredible view of Tacoma and Mt Rainier. Overall everything fell right in to place and my family and I were more than impressed and comfortable. Highly recommended if you would like a very nice dinner with excellent food service at a good price.
One of the finest restaurants in Tacoma can't be beat for its gorgeous view..
The Scene
Sweeping views of Mt. Rainier, Puget Sound and downtown Tacoma greet patrons as they rise to this restaurant at the top of the Sheraton in downtown Tacoma. The crowd is mostly hotel guests and business people, but foodies and view-seekers can be found amongst the fray. Drinks and appetizers can be enjoyed in the lounge with its western views; the elegant Italianate dining room showcases Mt. Rainier looming larger than life over Tacoma.
The Food
The Italian-inspired menu makes the most of local flavors. Luscious prawns, artfully arranged on a bed of baby asparagus, dance a tango with a zesty garlic sauce. The medley of flavors in the vegetable lasagna melds together beautifully. A favorite item, salmon Oscar, is nice and very rich--a broiled slab of salmon covered with crab and hollandaise with broiled tomatoes on the site. Tiramisu comes surrounded by chocolate sauce hearts.
Great food in Tacoma!. We were pleasantly surprised on the quality of food and service at Altezzo's. Appetizer was very fresh calamari - tender with a light breading. Our entree's included a beef tenderloin with a mint/fig sauce on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes, and a seafood linguine. The tenderloin was excellent in taste and presentation. To top things off our waiter (Michael) was incredibly knowledgeable, and helpful in wine selection. We will definitely be back again!
