Best Mexi in Clark County! – Strangely enough, I found myself at both the Camas and Vancouver locations of El Rancho Viejo this week. I've gotta say that both experiences were top-notch.

Some say all Mexican food is about the same - not here. It's delicious. But it still takes more to stand out as a good restaurant in my mind. They didn't disappoint. The service was very friendly and helpful.

The best surprise of all was the tasty sopatillas (sp?) they brought by the table for free after both meals! A tasty flour tortilla drizzled in honey and chocolate then dabbed with whipped cream! Mmmm....

I'm ready to go back!

Authentic, tasty, affordable, and outstanding service – My family and I went to this place, after a recommendation from a friend. The building itself is a little deceiving, but I cannot say enough good things about this place. The location I visited was on Fourth Plain, just a few blocks west of Andresen in Vancouver, WA

Food and Service:

This is authentic Mexican food at it's best. The chile rellenos is the hands down the best I've ever had. Their tamales are light, tasty, and made on site from scratch. My husband loves their Mole Poblano Chicken that has chocolate in the sauce. It sounds unusual but it is *outstandingly* good. Service is punctual, attentive, and the food comes hot! They do have lunch specials that are affordable (between $5.25 and $6.25).

Family Oriented:

Kids menus are basic and good portioned. I patroned restaurants that are not so family oriented, and disregard kids. In stark contrast, the service was patient and even friendly toward my four kids.

Full Service Bar:

I did not visit the bar section of the restaurant, although it looked full service and well stocked. Their margaritas are oh, so good. Beer and wine was also available.

If you are in search of Mexican food, this IS the place to come to.

Very authentic Mexican food at very reasonable prices – Don't be fooled by the not so great looking exterior, this place is by far the best pure Mexican food in Vancouver, possibly in the entire Portland-Metro area. I eaten Mexican food from Los Angeles to Mexico, to Florida, to Texas, to Arkansas, to here, this is truly one of the best I have ever had, easily in my top three.

The waitstaff is always very friendly and very efficient with a smile. The food is very authentic northern Mexico style food. Prices are great. I have been there with my family and friends atleast 15 times, never a problem.

Hint: Be sure to look in the local mailers for coupons as you can find two-for-one coupons all the time, PLUS, you can combine the coupons with the daily specials INCLUDING the Grand-Daddy of the all on Sundays when kids under 12 eat free with any paid meal. Yes, if you go there on a Sunday your child can get a free kid's meal, which are great portions, PLUS you can use your two-for-one coupon. Holy frioles!! My wife, son, and myself can eat for like $11 (meal plus two drinks,) be sure to tip them good though. I always tip on what if would have costed for three meals because I am a nice guy :)

I have had the Enchildas (red sauce, which is very flavorful, obviously made from scratch, also of special consideration to my fellow enchilada lovers, these are made when you order them and are NOT taken out of fridge and placed in oven) Carne Asada, Steak Taquitos, and the ABSOLUTE best specialty that I have ever had from a Mexican joint, the Mole Poblano Chicken. Check out the description on this, it says that it's a secret sauce or something like that make with CHOCOLATE... I am not kidding, it's so unbelievably awesome...

They are awesome with my son too, so that always helps.

Oh yeah, like any real authentic Mexican eatery, they give you two salsas. The red is pretty spicy, but very flavorful, but the green is mouth watering. It's an onion based salsa with very strong chile verde. Yum.

Seriously, try this place.

Good Mexican Food! – This restaurant has incredibly fast service, wonderful food, and very good prices. Whether you're going for a quick meal or a longer dinner, it's the perfect place. Everything I've tried on their menu has been tasty. For a buy one-get one free meal deal, keep your eye on your mail for the Vancouver Clipper; they're frequent advertisers.
