Best Japanese food in Vancouver – I didn't find this little gem until after years of living in this area, and it's only ten minutes from where I live. This is the only Japanese restaurant I know of for may miles around.

This is an independent restaurant where your meal is cooked right at your table, much like the Benihana chain restaurants. The Benihana chefs are much better at the entertainment part of the meal, but the food here is just as good.

You can get a pretty good multi-course steak and lobster meal for around $25, and most lunch meals are around $8 - $12.

If you have the opportunity to ask for your choice or cooks, ask for Tee.

Hidden in Hazel Dell – I think only a handful of people know about this great place as we often see the same faces every time we go there. There are 3 teppanyaki restaurants in Vancouver and this is by far the best. The other two are newer and have better locations....but the food and service is not of the same calibre. The waitstaff are genuinely friendly and attentive. I go for the food, but the familys there seem to really enjoy the entertainment of the teppanyaki style cooking hijinks. The miso is fantastic and always consistent. The sesame dressing on the salad is the best I've ever had. I've bought so many dressings trying to find one close and have failed so far. The salad is nothing but regular iceberg, but the dressing is so good it makes the salad a highlight of the meal. The entrees are great. If you are going to have beef, have the filet. The new york is tougher and not as flavorful. The filet is absolutely dee-lish. The chicken is always tasty and is served 3 ways. The shrimp is usually good, although a couple times it wasn't as fresh as I had hoped. The fried rice and yakisoba are really good. I suggest a 50/50 split of each. The vegetables are crisp, fresh, and yummy. The people that own and operate the place make a point of remembering you and really go out of their way to make sure you are always enjoying yourself. This is not a place to brush up on your Japanese speaking one there is Japanese or speaks the language. Not a big deal for most! My mom used to take me there as a kid and I'm so glad that this little hidden gem has stayed open despite the fact that HWY 99 is about the worst place to look for decent food. I hoped everyone who reads this will try this place. You will be back again and again.

Wonderful – I love this restaurant. Ive gone here since I was a kid. They have really good food. I recomend the Teriyaki chiken. Great price too. each meal. Come's with the best soup and salad, youve ever had. Everyone is so friendly. And the best part of all they cook in front of you.
