"policy says" not good for the consumer! – I purchased a heart rate monitor for my wife's birthday and the day before her birthday she came home having purchased the same one form Runners Soul. I immediately jumped in the car less than an hour later to return the item. They said it was a sale item and it could not be returned. I could understand it they had to pay money for processing a debit card, but my wife used cash. I insisted they call their manager and explain that we had two of the same item and we bought it less than an hour ago. They did call the manager, the manager insisted that it would be breaking two store policies to give cash back and return an item that was on sale.
The sad thing is that I have always known that Spokane's Runner Soal charged full retail, but we use to shop with them for their customer service and knowledge. Three weeks before my wife purchased a pair of running shoes for about $130 based off their recommendation. After running in them twice, they hurt her feet when she ran. When we tried to return them, the Runners Soul said you are outside our return policy by three days. OK shame on us for not getting them back within 14 days. This is a company that cares more about policy than it's customers. I run a business and no customer would ever hear things like “policy says” or “ you will have to come back and talk to my manager”. I’m sorry Runners Soul has left a bad taste in my mouth and dent in my wallet. My wish for you is that this review helps inform you on the type of company you are about to spend your money with.
Shoe store with serious customer service issues – I will probably not go to Runners Soul again. I initially went to this store because it is close to my apartment so I could walk. It is also a small business which Spokane has been losing a lot of recently in the downtown area and I wanted my dollars to stay here with a small business. I also have huge feet and only one shoe I like and my brand was listed on their website. I was greeted immediately when I entered the store which I liked but from there it went downhill. The gentleman helping me never smiled, didn't answer my questions and I actually had to re-ask two of my questions because he was so busy paying attention to the 5 guys loafing around in chairs (other employees? ) that he was ignoring me completely. He didn't say another word as I tried a shoe on. He took them to the cash register and rung them up before I even got my shoes back on. The whole experience took 5 min and he made eye contact with me once in that time. If I hadn't had my specific shoe it would have been way more painful. The other employees (?) never got out of their chairs or stopped chatting over our heads. So, I'd say the service was horrible, but the shoe selection was great. All of the staff, and granted I'm not sure who was and who wasn't, couldn't have care less if they made a lasting impression on any customer in the place. If I can't find my specific shoe in another store next time I need them I may go back but only if there is no where else to go.
