People were friendly, room was large and nice.

We live locally, but were having our floors refurnished. The room was just fine for our needs. The room was a nice size, lots of space to move around in. The free WiFi was a nice feature.

My family and I have stayed at the Royal Scot many times, always been put on the highway side rooms (one time requested it) as they are newer than the rest of the motel. Great place and perfect for Canadians spending a weekend in Spokane :) will definetly go back!

Sure, the Royal Scot is not the Davenport or Red Lion. However, if you are looking for a decent and inexpensive place to crash on a summer road trip, Royal Scot may work for you. It did for me.

The going rate is $50/night + $4 tax (kudos to Spokane County for resisting the urge to gouge out-of-town visitors with exorbitant lodging taxes like a certain large county in Western Washington).

The motel manager lives onsite, and I appreciated that he seemed very intent on ensuring that guests or unwelcome visitors are not engaging in any funny business.

My non-smoking room smelled clean and was immaculate

Wi-Fi was available with oodles of cable TV channels. Each room has a microwave and fridge. The motel has a pool too, but I didn't check it out.

A plus was that the Royal Scot was one block away from busy Division St. so the room was quiet without any street noise.
