The Big Daddy of Milwaukee's professional theater companies, the Rep has its own production, management, rehearsal, and staging areas in what was once Milwaukee's principal power plant. – History:
This historical power plant has been reincarnated as a marvelous theatrical facility that rivals any in the United States. The Rep stages contemporary dramas, nail-biting classics, humorous comedies, and get-up-close cabaret shows in one of several staging areas in this multi-level complex. There is a small restaurant and bar on the top floor where receptions and post-production feedback discussions are regularly held and where performers regularly flock after a show to relax. The handicapped-accessible complex is an integral part of the lofty Milwaukee Center, a marbled expanse of offices, public radio facilities, and financial institutions across the street from the City Hall. The Rep's productions are staged from September to May.
Outreach programs for kids and numerous other community-based programs throughout the year.
