The Milwaukee County park system consists of almost 15,000 acres of grass, woods, beach and water, and in golf country duffers take to the links in rain or shine. Of the 16 courses managed by the county, most players prefer Lake Park, which offers one of the best nine-hole regulation courses in Southeastern Wisconsin. For more advanced golfers, Brown Deer Park has a series of challenging holes with 60 bunkers, tree-lined fairways, and loads of wending water. Brown Deer, established in 1929, has hundreds of mature trees and is home of the PGA Tour's Greater Milwaukee Open.
