Awesome service – Located close to downtown San Jose, this restaurant is a small place with a big heart. You can go there for the Tapas and it has a variety in its menu. The best part is the owner of this place.
We ordered a few plates, however the owner did not think it would be enough and got us another tapas on the house. We loved the food and the kind act really made an impact on us. We will surely go back again!
Great place to go – We also have been going to Picassos for years, and have always had a great experience. The owners are really friendly. The food is wonderful. We have paella everytime and is the best paella we ever had. The tapas are really good too. The atmosphere is wonderful as well.
Fantastic Cuisine, Atmosphere and Service – We have been going to Picassos for years, and have always had a great experience. The owners are extremely friendly, making you feel as if they are welcoming you into their home, and the service is attentive and courteous. The food is wonderful, and there is plenty of it to go around, and the atmosphere is wonderful. While the restaurant itself is on the small-side, we have dined with groups of 6 or more on several occasions, and had the same level of service and courteousness.
What a catch!!! – We made a reservation but didn't work... we had to wait like everybody else! Then, we waited for half an hour for the tapas which was very small. After that, more than other half an hour for a paella. The paella was advertised in the menu for $17.95 per person but the catch was that they couldnt' make it for just one person. So we ended up paying $35.90 for two people. Also, sangria was very expensive ($18 for a pitcher).
The service is very poor because the kitchen doesn't deliver food at normal time. So don't go there if you are starving or you have to go to the theater later!!!
Service is bad & prices are too high for what it is. Also the noise level is too high.So we do not recommend this place.
Best Dining Experience in San Jose – We went to Picasso's for Valentine's Day and had a fabulous time. The food was impeccably flavorful and authentic, and the ambience was perfect. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the added bonus of the guitarist created a nice atmosphere. If you love Spain and Spanish food, try this place out.
Great tapas!!! – The food is flavorful!!! The service is wonderful.... love Irma and Mr. Garcia, so warm and friendly. The chicken & rice dish was great.... I've tasted lots of tapas before, but nothing this good.... just wish I went after work and would have had some Sangria! But I'll be back!
Just as good, but closer – Must try: the clams, the gambas shrimp and both paellaes. The clams in the white wine sauce is to die for. The only problem is the portions are small so we ended up ordering 3 portions. The seafood paella is a little sweeter than the traditional paella but just as good. The traditional paella is one of the best I've had in the area.
the spanish tortilla is good but the serving is extremely small compared to the big piece you get at Picaro's in SF. It's not worth getting unless you really crave it.
The chicken corquettes are good and worth trying.
The stuffed peppers are tiny! They are good but def. not worth the price.
The potato bravo isn't very special. Don't get it.
The tapas size stew chicken is delic and actually a good deal considering the amount of chicken you get.
vicsmbz – The paella was excellent! It was so full of flavor I plan to bring my friends. The tapas portions could be a little larger for the price; although they were delicious.
Great Paella & Sangria – You must come to this place and have their Sangria with Spanish Paella. I must admit that I thought the Paella was a little dry at first but compared to others, this place has a great Paella. The restaurant is quite small so you might want to make reservations first. Service is a little slow but its was a Friday night. Its also a little hard to find so but look for the Washington Mutual on Santa Clara and its right across the street from it. Its a little on the expensive side for Paella and tapas but I would recommend to try it.
Fairly average tapas – The service can be hit and miss. The food too. We had excellent chicken soup here and really horrible chorizo. There are much better tapas resturants in the area.
