Another Grat Experience!.
Trust me, you must go to the Hungry Hunter in San Jose. I was there again tonight and the food and service was great.
Just so people know, the Milpitas Hungry Hunter is not the same type of restaurant as the San Jose Hungry Hunter. The San Jose Hungry Hunter has a different menu than the one in Milpitas. Aparantly, the San Jose Hungry Hunter is what the call a Carver's steakhouse. It still has the Hungry Hunter name, but they have a different atmosphere, better cuts of meat, and different tastes. If you want to dine, you should go to the San Jose Hungry Hunter. If you want to take the kids out for a quick dinner, go to Milpitas. San Jose is reasonably priced and the dining atmosphere is great.
Impressed!. We went to the Hungry Hunter on Good Friday... all the 'regular' places we go were packed... we drove past the Hungry Hunter and decided we would go there. WOW!!!! The food was excellent! I had the Rack of Lamb... the best I have had in YEARS!!! Comperable to the 16 Mile House in Millbrae. He had the Pepper Steak... FANTASTIC! The salads were wonderful. All done to perfection!VERY impressed... in fact we are on our way back now. The service was great... all perfect! Could NOT have had better! I have recommended to so many now... you won't be sorry!
The quality is gone. It was a really great place at one time.....not any more. They never recovered after the fire. Its hard to complain about the steak being undercooked because the waitstaff is nonexistent. I had to walk to the host station twice to ask where my waiter was. Truthfully, I should have continued past the host station and out the door. Pitty when a place that was once very good fails to deliver.
Go to Milpitas. I've been to the one in San Jose twice, Milpitas 7 times. Milpitas one blows the San Jose one away, more food, less $ and generally shorter waits. Never had a undercooked/overcooked prime rib.
Terrible service, but great steaks.. My friend and I arrived 10 minutes before my 8:00 reservation and were told to wait. A few minutes later a couple came in with the same reservations and were seated immediately in a booth. At 8:15 we were seated in a lousy location in the middle of the restaurant while two more booths remained free. The hostesses were rude, our waitress was snobby, and the prices were steep. However, the filet I ordered was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely delicious.
Outstanding !. The good food brings people in from miles around if in a big hurry pick off hours. The bar area can be a little loud. Good location for a third date with the one you care for. The salad is tossed at the table with your selected dressing. The desserts are wonderful but you will never have room for them. It is important to come hungery and with good friends
