one very bad plumber – i live in a remote area of greenbrier county. three months ago my refridgerator started leaking and the ice maker quit working. i turned the ice maker off but the leak in the bottom of the fridge kept leaking. plumbers are difficult to find and most of them are working on bigger jobs and don't want to deal with a leak. i finally resorted to the phone book. i called the first couple listed and they couldn't come for several days. the next one on the list was bennett plumbing, so i called the number.i was told he could be there the next morning so i said "great, please come". he showed up at 9 and looked at the refridge and couldn't find the leak nor where to turn off the water to the ice maker. i ask him if he was in a hurry and he said no, so i ask him to do a few other jobs that i couldn't do.he replaced my kitchen faucet, replaced the insides to 2 commodes and replaced the shower nozzle. i had already bought all the materials, the only thing he furnished was a small piece of pipe for the shower nozzle and some caulking. the bill was $541.44--------- he charged me $375 for labor,$88 for fuel,$48 for parts and tax was $30.44. it was about 22 miles from ronceverte to my house in renick. because of some stress that i was under i didn't question the bill and paid it. he went directly to the bank and cashed my check. after i got over my shock i called him and told him i thought he charged me way toooo much for the little bit of work he had done and thought he should refund some of the money. i had to talk to his answering machine and have not heard from him since. i posted on facebook what had happened and found out he is also a sex offender and has been on home confinment for three years. i know offenders have to report an address change but do they not have to tell the public when they come into your home????? i just hope this will help other older, widowed women like me to be more careful when getting help through the phone book. remember------------this name kevin bennett, doing business as bennett plumbing in ronceverte,w.v. thank you

billing problems w/ verizon – back in dec i switched from verizon phone and internet to the suddenlink bundle package to save money and eliminate a bill. suddenlink contacted verizon to cancel all services and i did as soon as the suddenlink rep left my house from hooking everything up. i was told i would recieve the final bill and it would be taken care of and that suddenlink did indeed call to cancel the phone and internet. low and behold almost 3 mths later i have dealt w/ messed up bills, too much money drafted out of my bank acct ( which was their error and took a mth to get my money back and it wasn't the correct amt) and several hours making phone calls and being put on hold for very long periods of time and this still isn't taken care of. everytime i call verizon to tell them that i'm still getting these crazy bills for dates after the service was cancelled i get told that they are sorry but for some reason the service was never cancelled. then i get the reps name and they give me a confirmation number and the assure me that it is taken care of there is a zero bal and the service is now cancelled. well about 5 phone calls later and several bills this is still an issue. so now i am asking what do i have to do to get this taken care of since calling and talking to 10 different people isn't taking care of it. i also keep notes every time i call i write the date, reps names, time spent on the phone and everything that they say including the confirmation number showing that it's taken care of. so what now? if they had a local office i would take all of the bills and notes and show them to someone. i'm very upset and frustrated w/ verizon. i will never go back to verizon even if they were the only phone carrier i would go to my cell or do w/ out. will this ever be taken care of and how do i get it taken care?

suddenlink communications – Until now I hadn't had a problem with suddenlink then I signed up for a package including phone and internet. The package That I signed up for was only supposed to be $117.00 I never did get a bill at that price. I had one pro-rated bill for the internet at $108.00 and then the next bill they started charging me $148.00 a month. Yet new customers are getting the same package that i origanally signed up for at $119.00. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think that is very fair. I think everyone should be charged the same rate for the same service. I had the same problem with Verizion and that is why I switched to suddenlink in the first place. I'm glad that I finally found a place to constructively vent my anger.
