Great Place!!! – well this place is pretty cool i love it!!!!! people should come here! they could lower the prices but other wise its great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tons of Movies to Choose From! – With twenty different theaters to view from, you are sure to find a time that suits you for the movie you actually want to see. There are tons of parking but beware of friday and saturday nights when tweens and teens swarm by the hundreds to get away from the parents. The prices of the snacks are a bit too expensive so eat before you go! The seats are like a recliner that gives plenty of space. But, if you wish to snuggle up to that someone special, just raise the arm rest, and your chairs become a love seat. Have tons of friends you want to sit with, just raise all the arm rest and you have a huge couch! With stadium seating you will not have to worry about someone tall sitting in front of you!
Commonwealth 20 is a great theater. – I had to respond to t123. This is the exact type of person that is ruining this country. ALL of those previews are pre-screened by YOUR beloved censors, t123. I am raising the BS flag and straight-out calling you a liar for your statement that you spent hours explaining all of these bad things to your children after the movie. You. Are. A. Liar. Why don't you just mind your business and keep your ridiculous Puritan lifestyle in your own home?
I have been going to Commonwealth 20 for several years with my children. Yeah, I even let them watch "R" rated movies when they were pre-teens. My son was recently accepted to Hampden-Sydney and he will go on to become a lawyer. My daughter plays softball for Bird and will get a full ride to the university of her choice- oh, and I attribute the fact that she is 16 1/2, absolutely beautiful, and still a virgin to the fact that secks* has never been some taboo mystery in our home.
Good luck with your kids t123. I'll bet they will be so screwed up by the time they are teens that they will go down a path that will break your heart. Oh, and BOTH of my kids are about well behaved and respectful as they come- my son a little more than my daughter, but I'll still put either of them up against any kids, anywhere.
Truth, respect and unconditional love are the answer. Your way of raising kids creates the secksual predators that we have in this country.
I realize that my comments are not necessarily about the theater, but these nutjobs need to be stopped and the only way to stop them is to call them out when they spew their garbage.
*WOW!!! The word "secks" (with an "x")can't be used on this site. Must be run by some friend's of t123... How ironic...
Parents of small Children Be Warned – Ok we went with our family of five to see "Barnyard". A rated "G" movie. Thought this would be a good family movie. Safe for our preschoolers to view and have quality family time. The actual movie was great but as the previews and commercials came on we quickly found out they do not care what commercials they show to ALL audiences. Within the course of three minutes our little guys saw a Nuclear bomb go off with a man with two small children trying to survive (Jericho) followed by the next scene of a woman getting undressed and climbing into bed with a man..followed by them breaking out there breifcases full of tons of guns and going to rob banks (Smith I think?) I couldn't tell you the rest because I was up and out of my seat to speak with the manager after that. I mean really I pay $60 to take my family to a nice family movie and instead have to spend hours explaining s ex, war, and bank robbery to my children for the rest of the night. The manager informed me "Well they are all commercials for regular TV shows so we just assume they are fine for everyone." Oh yeah I am going to let me four year old stay up until 10pm to watch a bank robbery show or a war show. Come on! For the money I spent for a G movie..I expect G commercials! They can do so much better than this. Very disappointed and will be asking what the commercials are for sure next time we go..if we go.
With stadium seating and a superb snack selection, movies almost take second stage to this uber-theatre. – What to Expect
Lush and palatial, Commonwealth 20 brings the concept of stadium seating to Southside movie audiences. Forget the huge number of screens here--audiences may not care as much about what they see when they can get such a luxurious experience seeing it.
Go ahead, grumble about paying $8 for a movie while you're standing at the ticket window. Once you've walked into the theater, however, you may even be willing to pay a bit more. Stadium seating, which might remind movie-lovers of an IMAX theater, means that every seat promises an unobstructed view of the screen. You'll also love the cushy reclining seats with movable arm rests, leaving you with the option to cuddle with your date if the mood strikes you.
Buy the typical sodas, popcorn and candy if you please, but Commonweath 20 also offers a selection of gummi and chocolate treats that lets you scoop your own amount into a plastic bag. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Definitely. Other treats include pizza, hot dogs, nachos and ice cream.
comfortable – the best theater i have ever been 2 in my life
Great Theatre – Except for the great, quaint old theatres, the movie going experience has gone to the multiplexes for their convenience. In terms of Richmond multiplexes, this is by far the best. A lot of the theatres are good size, with large screens. Also have a good variety of snacks, and easy parking.
Clearly the best multi-plex in Richmond. Convenient parking, good size theatres. And please ignore the last review, as it appears he has a problem with all of Suburbia, and anything associated with it. If you want to go to a great multi-plex, this is the one.
Best in Richmond – Easily the best theatre in Richmond. Large number of "big" theatres and screens, comfortable seating, and plenty of parking.
Excellent Theatre – Great theatre. Large number of theatres have large screens. There is good sound, comfortable seats, and easy parking. Easily the best theatre in Richmond.
