Do not recommend!!!!!!! Bought my ticket, was going to a show tonight with 2 female friends of mine. I get stopped and patted by a rather small and scruff bearded bouncer. I make a joke that was innocent and not even thought through of "Do I get a happy ending with that" He then says i cannot enter the venue, because it was not funny and he holds the power. Bouncers should understand that they are soldiers for the people, they are there to keep people safe, prevent excess drunken conduct and most of all make sure people are having fun and enjoying the show. These bouncers did no such thing. After denied entrance I am waiting by the front door while my 2 female friends are inside wondering where i've went, and come back and the bouncer tells them that i only have myself to blame, and they should be making me apologize to them for missing out. 5 minutes go by while they figure out what to do and I am sitting there. I then see the bouncer step away from the curb and light a cigarette, bragging to his friends how he denied me entrance, and when i asked him if i could talk to someone else or the manager he said "I am the manager". I have nothing against the venue personally, but the bouncers are TERRIBLE!!!! They are a bunch of ego measuring clowns! In my previous years going there i have witnessed first hand misconduct by them, but over looked it because it was not me. Now I am hit by this directly, and feel the need to pass on the message.

the staff at el corazone are helpful & very friendly, it is a super fun place if you dont mind being in a tight crowd. everybody says that the staff is rude and inconsiderate, so i really didnt think it was going to be all that great, but it turns out that people are really just overreacting to people doing their jobs. its easy to get up close to the stage, and just a really good time being there.

GREAT SMALL VENUE!!! – Im taking the time to create an account just to let people know that the staff at el corazone were helpful & very friendly and very patient with any unruly people i witnessed - the place is hot and stinky by the end of the nif=ght but a GREAT VENUE to see your favorite band up close and personal. I have subtracted a star for bathrooms which are no better than all other bar/music venues around... i did hear a lot of problems wiht forgotten / expired IDs tho NO EXCEPTIONS etc....

Just be prepared to rub elbows and smell the humanity in this place in trade for a great show.

El Corazon has no heart! – Bands should really stop playing there. In addition to being old, tired, and crappy, the place really doesn't treat band right and they really don't do anything to help local talent. It's a total pay-to-play setup, and you get jack for your efforts. An example: I know a band that was offered a measly $50 to play a set there opening for a big metal band on an international tour, and the tickets were going for more than $25 bucks! Times that by 400 metalheads, and the club sold $10,000 of tickets that night, not to mention sales at the bar. Pay that low is an insult to bands and artists, but is typical of many clubs in Seattle. El Corazon definitely sets the pace in the race to the bottom.

BATHROOMS! – I hated it! The staff were nothing but complete dickholes..

If you have ever been there and used the restrooms you would notice that the walls are completely covered in writing from many people who have been there for YEARS! You think if they really didnt want to people to write on them you would uhh one make a sign, or two paint over it. Honestly who would know that it was not okay to keep doing it. Anyways, I made the mistake by writing nothing bad but " may the peace be with you" on there bathroom walls as one the employees walks by and yells "GET THE F*** OUT". At first i thought he was kidding was going to say just f***ing with ya after i got to the door where i realized not only was he the only dickweed that worked there but yet the WHOLE staff was. i will never bring any business back to that venue ever. I understand tagging it bad and would never do it if i didnt think it was okay. They could of atleast asked nicely and atleast understood where I was coming from with the confusion.

I had a good experience – I went here on July 9th to see The Maine. It was going to be almost 90 degrees so I was thinking "oh great, this is going to be horrible." And I had read a lot of really suckish reviews beforehand so I really wasn't expecting anything too great. So, I got there and was waiting in line and the security guard really wasn't rude at all. He was pretty friendly actually. I got in and saw it was really small. But I know that even if I had went back as far as I could've then I probably would've been able to have still a great view so that was a plus. Luckily, I bought water before the show because it was really hot. But, what I really liked was since it was so hot, they were passing around ice, cold water bottles throughout the crowd and sprayed everyone down with a hose which was obviously greatly appreciated. A lot of people said the sound system sucked but I found it pretty good. It wasn't like at other concerts were it would be so loud I thought my eardrums were literally going to burst. I didn't find it too soft either and could clearly hear everything that was said on stage. So overall, I'd say this was a pretty good venue. I didn't go to the bar though, obviously, so I wouldn't know anything about that. I don't know if the people were nicer because there were lots of teenage girls there or if it would've even made a difference but, I really liked it. They don't really have the greatest air conditioning but really, how air conditioned can you be cramped in a super small venue filled with over 800 people? I would think not very much. The heat was pretty much the only con so I really liked it. I don't know why everyone hates this place so much. I know I'm going to hate going to another concert and not being as close to the band as I was at El Corazon. That was probably my favorite part.

Worst Bouncers in SEATTLE – If you are thinking about going to El Corazon make sure it's for a band that you know will impress you because otherwise don't waste your time at this venue. They have the most rude and disrespectful bouncers I have ever encountered. They pull and push people around as if you were getting your house raided for meth by a bunch of DEA agents. Even if you ask them a simple question they answer you in a rude and demeening way. I was just checking with them on their re-entry policy and the guy wouldn't even answer me, all he did was look at me like I was an idiot. Plus ladies try not to bring in your purse if you don't have to, especially if you have anything in it that you "shouldnt have." Because they search every little zipper or make-up bag you have, ...and I thought security was rough at the airport!

Bully Bouncers – Arrogant and incompetent are the most accurate words I can use to describe the bounce staff at El Corazon. My 2 friends ( a couple) and I were dancing at the Dillinger Escape Plan show last Saturday when without warning a large bouncer, with a huge chip on his shoulder, grabbed my guy friend by the back of his collar and drug him outside. We were left standing there dumbfounded. We went out to see what the problem was and the bouncer told us we were running into people. Keep in mind this was a metal show and running into people when the whole floor is a mosh pit is pretty much unavoidable. We did have a few drinks but were by no means belligerent. I’m still not sure how he decided which one of us to toss, but I could guess he had a problem with my guy friend hanging out with 2 girls and thought he’d get rid of him to show how tough he was. Outside the bouncer refused to let my friend back in and was quite rude to all of us. I went back in the show and my friend and his girlfriend waited outside. The next time I went to check on them, my guy friend was handcuffed, face down on the pavement. The bounce staff said the police were on their way. I asked what he was being charged with, thinking maybe disorderly. They told me assault. I asked them who he hit and they said no one but he was getting in the face of the bouncer. Considering he was kicked out for dancing and the bounce staff let it escalate to the point of an arrest shows how incompetent they are at controlling even simple situations. There are plenty of reviews online that prove this. I would avoid this club if at all possible. They get one star because this form won't submit with zero.
