Smelly.
Formerly the Fonda Theatre, now the Music box. Everything about this places feels like Avalon and Vanguard, and I don't like either place.

Roof top Smoking Patio is awesome, it reminds you that you could be at a better venue i.e. Drais
Apparently they spent $2 million on the LED lighting systems alone.... it was ok.

What is with the carpet? Smelly and old, why would you have a carpet at a club? Each Saturday I went there it was like an encounter of the smelly kind. A smelly cocktail of old cigarettes butts, spilled alcohol with a strong blend of old vomit everywhere, I do mean everywhere.... smelly smelly smelly
The large size means there will never be an exclusive crowd and you can pretty much wear anything to get in.
If you want to experience a concept of an evening with pungent smelly carpet, several unwashed ravers furthermore suffering from obesity and heavy perspiration then The Music Box is perfectly wonderful for you to check out.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!.
If it wasn't a required field, you wouldn't even get one star!! You're not even worth an 'EH'...
So what happened last night???!! Why did you say the show would be at 10 and not open the doors until 11??... Why did we stand out side for 3 1/2 hours when we bought tickets through you, on the first day they were available?? ... Why was security waving people who had physical tickets in over the people who had will call?? Why did you oversell the venue??!! ... WHY DIDN'T WE GET IN??!! ... THIS IS THE SECOND TIME YOUR VENUE HAS SCREWED THINGS UP!! WE WANT A REFUND AND AN APOLOGY!!
BTW - NO ONE BUY BOTTLE SERVICE - YOU AREN'T GUARANTEED THAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY GET IN - EVEN AFTER PAYING $1000...
There were at least 400 people still outside when I finally left... And not only weren't they letting people in, but they weren't even telling people that they were filled to capacity and they weren't going to let us in!!!
Don't trust the reviews as you can see they were obviously written by an employee or a marketing company.
Go Here. I had a blast when i went here with my girlfriend. Great music, awesome sound and since we were in the nose bleeds we appreciated that we were able to see everything
Citysearch Editorial Review. Formerly known as the Henry Fonda Theatre, this historic theater first opened in 1926 and frequently played host to silver screen legends like Marlene Dietrich and Clark Gable. Today, all-access freedom and performances from top rock acts offers a decidedly more laidback experience. The standing-room-only main space sets an interactive vibe while the upstairs mezzanine leads to the sleek rooftop speakeasy, where folks can get a drink, hang in the indoor lounge area, take in the views of Hollywood or light up with nary a disapproving stare. The unusual slanting balcony offers seats and one of the best views of the stage and modern intricacies like a state-of-the-art sound and light system and plasma TVs have moved this legendary venue into the new century.
One of the best venues in town. Great place to see a small or indie type of band. No hassles inside, unless you try to sneak into G.A., and good sound quality. Not a huge issue seeing the stage from any spot. Fun place to hear live music.
Music Box. Huge venue to see a music show! For an inside venue it has pretty good sound. Better than most places in LA. And they have seating upstairs which is good!
Great venue!.
I've been to a few venues and I really like this one. The lines werent too long to get in and anywhere you stood you got a good view. They even have a balcony at the top to sit if you dont feel like standing the whole night. Great sound, and they have smoking patio that shows a big screen. It's right off the exit and easy to find. I just saw Tegan and Sara there, and it was a great show! This is my favorite venue so far!
Downside: The security were kind of pushy and mean, and not very helpful when you had questions.
Great place for private parties!. I've been here many times, each time for a private industry party. I really like roaming around the different levels and bumping into people I know. It's also great because you get to finish one conversation then get lost in the crowd and avoid looking like a leech. Their bartenders are very friendly and the stage sounds great! I'd be curious to come here for a regular event with the public but I probably wouldn't have as good of a time.
my fave venue. This is now my favorite concert venue in LA. The theatre has nice retro decor and there's an upstairs lounge area where you can relax during the opening bands and have a nice view of Hollywood. The layout of the stage is good, too, you feel close to the band.
Better sound than the Avalon, Troub, Wiltern or anywhere else in Hollywood. I've been to pretty much every music venue in Los Angeles, and after careful scrutiny, I've decided that the Henry Fonda Theatre is my personal favorite. Everything from the atmosphere (old Hollywood luxury) to the sound quality (crisp and perfectly balanced) makes for a dynamic concert experience. It easily competes with the Wiltern, which while excellent, costs two arms and a leg to get into.
