This historic site is the often-jilted home of football in Los Angeles. – In Short
Named after Rome's famed gladiator arena, the Los Angeles Coliseum is a true sports-park legend. Built in stages beginning in 1923 at a cost of nearly $1 million, the stadium has hosted several significant events, including the 1932 and 1984 summer Olympic Games and the first Super Bowl. It's been designated a national and state historic landmark, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Go to the Rose Bowl instead – Uhh, the UCLA-USC match-up is at the Rose Bowl this year!!! The Rose Bowl is a far better venue with the San Gabriel mountains as a back drop and the golf course next door. Of course, Pasadena is a far better location than LA.
A couple Raider Games – The coliseum is one big place!!!! I attended a couple raider games and practically got lost looking for my seat! Its old school architecture would be appreciated by people who like looking at landmarks. But as a comfort stadium it's entirely lacking!
