loved it! – i don't know if any of you heard of yadi present burlesque venue. i sure never heard of it, but wanted to see a burlesque show without having to drive as far as long beach.

i live in hollywood and driving 15 minutes on the freeway to get there didn't sound too bad.

the venue was taking place at mr t's club, or mr t's bowl which i heard a lot of buzz about from my colleaques at work but never been there myself.

when i entered the club and showed my id to the security guard at the door i was pretty amazed at what kind of environment mr t's was. i felt like i was totally lost in time. it was so old school! old-fashioned booths and latticework all over the place; nice, dim lighting. it took me back.

i was however, very surprised noone was dressed up except for burlesque performers roaming around in their jeweled corsets and headdresses and i managed to buy one of the girls a drink.

the first band started around tenish and i wasn't crazy about it. the second band was really good.

absolutely loved the buslesque acts; there were 8 of them, and all of the girls were young and gorgeous. those were real professional dancers, not just amateurs, and i took lots of photos. one of the girls was a radio star wearing a lollipop corset sucking on a lollipop while she stripped down to her underwear by the end of the song.

met a few interesting people there, one of the old guys at the bar told me the place used to be a bodyshop in the 30's and then they converted it into a bowling alley.

you can still see the old bowling lanes all the way in the back, and they don't mind you going there to take a look.

i also met the promoter of this venue; yadi is her name. she invited me back on the 9th of april for another exciting burlesque scene with a different theme. she was the one giving away candy bags at the door as you walk in.

i really liked the vibe of mr t's and the drinks were very reasonable compared to what i am used to paying when i go to chateau marmont bar on sunset. let's just say, i spent here on drinks exactly the amount i have to shell out to valet park on sunset, and that's before i even enter the bar. i hope, after me saying this, mr t's is not going to start charging for parking as i'd rather spend that at the bar.

JUST GIVING CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE! – I just hosted a bithday bash for my fiance with 50 invited guests and three belly dancers entertaining everybody all night.

I thought, the room rental for the night was extremely reasonable as we couldn't do anything like this in our one-bedroom appartment.

I was extremely pleased with mr t's club going out of its way for us like it did.

The owner is a very nice man. He provided bouquet arrangements, white tablecloths, drink specials, catered amazing mexican food right out of the back door, on the parking lot; three security guards, great 6 band line-up!

He even opened up the doors early for us, so, we could have our few private hours with our guests and all the birthday present before the main venue went on.

I can't tell you how satisfied i am!

drinks were extremely reasonable and very strong!

Bar staff is very nice, attentive to your special drink orders, and i am very peculiar about how i like my drinks made.

The food was exellent!

$1.00 carne asada tacos rocked!

We even had them catered inside the bar area!

At closing we played the juke box; all the old-world songs that you don't even hear these days anymore, except, maybe, at mel's drive-in, and everybody at the bar just sang along.

The night ended really cool. most of us had taxi rides called for by the bartender, and before we left some older dude we didn't even know bought the whole bar a round of tequila shots. how cool is that!

This was our first time there, and i will definately keep mr t's on my priority list for my and my fiance's future outings!

I HAVE THE WORLD TO THANK YOU FOR! – i just wanted to say thank you, mr t's.

you have no idea how grateful i am to you and your crew!

i lost my expensive $1200 prada purse there last week, and today, monday, i get a call on my answering machine to come by and pick my purse up.

when i got there, the bartender handed me my purse, and told me that it was found on saturday night at closing.

i looked inside my purse, and wow! all my credit cards, driver's liscence, blackberry, my house and car keys, and $50.00 in cash were still there!

i could not believe it! i really thought, all i would be able to recover, provided i got extremely lucky, would be an empty purse, at best! it happened to me several times in the past!

i could not believe how honest these people that run mr t's are!

i know now there are some good, honest, caring people out there.

my birthday is coming up and i am seriously considering to have mr t's host my birthday celebration; i just love the old-fashioned vibe of the place and the bar set-up, all lit up with red lights. and the people who work there are so nice!

i wonder if i could let my roommate's all-girl band appear on stage there for my party, but, i guess, i can find that out!

they will rob you for real – bar tendress refused to close out my tab until 2 in the morning. it was 11. the service was no good and they were understaffed. i did not want to stay because of the terrible local band. my card was stolen and 100's of dollars lost. when i went back they were closed for two weeks. while they were using my card. ddrinks were weak anyway. way weak. bands are retarded. new manager has ruined it.

overpriced mix drinks and HORRIBLE service – I went last week to go see a friends band play at this old bowling alley turned bar, and it was awful just being there. First, the lady bartender was rude and couldn't make a Martini if her life depened on it.. HORRIBLE..!! and way way overpriced..never again. the sound was good, but the parking lot was sketchy, with kids everywhere smoking 420 and drinking 40's it made me feel like i was in high school again.. NO THANKS!

Small, dirty and crowded – Good lord, this was the smallest and worst bar I've been to in my life. It was a Sunday night and bands were playing live. The sound was horrible and drinks extremely watered down. I live in the area and had never set foot in this place because I didn't even know it was still in business. The place looked really dirty too. Thank goodness I didn't try any of the food.

Offbeat location and peculiar shows make T's the choice of indiscriminate sensation seekers. – In Short
This dilapidated former bowling alley off the 110 freeway is decked out in low-rent exotica and caters to an audience that demands to be entertained by any means available. Underground rock acts alternate with elaborate and tasteless theme nights, and the audience is invariably as interesting as what's on stage. Regulars are a bleary-eyed crop of Highland Park old-timers who seem amused by the antics of the young folks who put on shows here--so far.

I PITTY THE FOO – I pitty the foo who does not go and visit Mr. T's Bowl at least once. This place is so classic. Foos from all over L.A come and represent. You can be sitting next to foo who looks like Beck and right next him there is a foo who is all gothed out. Old foos, homies and hipsters from all over LA come ot this joint and represent. A cross section of the crazy people you will every meet. This is what America is all about!

OG's only – mr. t's bowl, albeit hard to find, is one of the most original joints in los angeles. cheap drinks plus a hodgepodge of a crowd always makes for an interesting evening. you get the guys who've been coming there 50 years and the local hipsters cashing in on the kitsch factor -- what a mix. karaoke on wednesdays and thursdays is quite entertaining if you can stand it. one of the top 5 spots in l.a. in my opinion.
