Stir Crazy is another old school cafe that's been open for nearly 20 years. This cozy cafe is popular with screenwriters as it's equipped with lighting fast wifi, plenty of outlets, and bottomless cups of coffee. Once you're wired on coffee, switch to a strawberry smoothie. At night, I like sitting on the patio.
Had an excellent cappuccino here last night. The lady at the counter was really nice. She gave me an extra shot and had me wired then grumpy. Good coffee. Was happy to chat with her.
Nice owner, good guy, the girls who work there are awfull though, come on is it really all that hard to be just the slightest bit pleasant, but maybe you'll be lucky and be there when that owner dude is working the front, I'd have him in my unit anytime, I would recommend the place still.
Love the energy at "Stir Crazy" – Its great to have such an awsome Coffee Shop in the area!
Great service, bad lighting at night – I've been challenging myself as a student at UCLA to explore the non-Starbucks/CoffeBean/Peet's cafes in the West LA/Santa Monica area and have been to quite a number of local cafes in the area.
I went to Stir Crazy late at night to study - bad idea. There is a lot of mood lighting and it's very difficult to read. However, drinks are great (they have for-here mugs), service is amazing (the barista was very friendly and came multiple times to fill up people's coffee), prices are average, pretty sure it's cash only, and there is a tiny tiny parking lot behind the shop but you'll find more luck on the street late at night.
Best Coffe Shop in Los Angeles – This is one of the most fantastic coffee shops to be found in Los Angeles. If you've had it with all the major chains of Starbucks, Pete's, and Coffee Bean and Leaf, you should definitely check this place out. It is reminds me of the neighborhood feel of the coffee shops in San Francisco. The staff is always friendly, remembering your drinks and name. Can't beat having free internet and the menu is quite inventive and ambitious for a small shop. Parking can seem to be a problem but I just found out that there's always free parking in the back of the shop. Lot's of locals, industry folk and artisans. Can't say enough about how much I love this place. Oh, and it's insanely clean!!!
A bit small – Nothing spectacular, ok spot to go to, a bit small and dark. My sandwich cheese and sunny dried tomotoes was really gross. Pay attention to the signs for parking.
Bottomless cups of coffee and jazzy tunes fuel screenwriter hopefuls in this cozy cabin. – In Short
This coffee nook provides a rustic respite from the trendy clutter of Melrose boutiques. Writer types with laptops flock here during the day, drinking cup after cup of java and looking askance at patrons who talk too loudly. Wood paneling on the walls resembles logs, and benches are upholstered in cowboy fabric. Gourmet sandwiches with such sophisticated fillings as goat cheese, roasted peppers and fresh basil are served, as are many desserts like Boston cream pie.
$2 Bottomless cup of coffee – $2 dollars for a bottomless cup of coffee. Cash only. The food is average. No wifi as of yet and the likelihood of them getting some is slim to none.
The Best! – This is my favorite coffee shop and they definately reward you for being a regular. Not pretentious, great music and wonderful coffee.
Stirred Me Crazy – Friendly service, opens late- GREAT ICE BLENDED'S! Located on the popular Melrose strip!
