Bend there done that. I grew up sking Mt Bachelor or Bachelor Butte the proper name. There is nothing wrong with the place but the long lines and the intermediate terrian, they say expert but I never say anything. If you want a better terrian and no lines come to Montana.
awesome!. mt. bachelor is awesome! i have snowboarded all over the west coast at some pretty well known ski resorts. whistler/blackcomb, mt. hood meadows, timberline, mammoth, snoqualime, etc... these places are all good, but to me, nothing is better then mt. bachelor. northwest express and the summit are great.
SKI FRONTIER. A simply amazing resort in an amazing location; skiing on the edge. Great snow, minimal crowds, phenomenal views; "overlooks" four 10k+ foot mountains, inasmuch as you CAN overlook a 10k foot mountain. The terrain is intricate, challenging, and simply a blast to explore--an extinct volcano. Lift lines nonexistent. Bend, OR a charming little town with all the amenities and a great frontier feel. The catch: difficult/expensive to reach, and the summit is often closed due to wind.
To go or not to go. Fresh powder us team trains here?? yes ladies and gents thats right the US ski team trains here it's convenient and it's in none other than oregon
Deeeeeeeep Pow. Had incredible conditions for the entire week. 18" of very light powder on the first day. Bend is a very nice small town where you feel at home. I will return. Get an Express pass prior to arrival. It will save you some bucks and keep you out of the ticket lines.
