An enchanted walk through Margaret Mitchell's Old South, strictly for fans of the story. – In Short
Atlantan Margaret Mitchell based her epic novel on true Civil War stories centered on people and places in Clayton County around her family home. A "Gone With the Wind" Museum contains movie memorabilia and costumes. There's a daily two-hour tour that includes visits to historic sites like the Confederate Memorial Cemetery. The tour ends at the gates of Stately Oaks Plantation, an 1839 planter's home and the basis for the famed Tara Plantation.
Very Informative – My mother and I went on the driving tour of the Lengendary Land of Gone with the Wind, it was very informative. We both enjoyed it very much. We felt that this tour was much better than the Margaret Mitchell house tour.
The guide on this tour was very knowledgeable and knew everything there was to know on Gone with the Wind.
We would recommend this tour to any Gone with the Wind fan.
